It will be done by a private corporation first. Only the super rich, and elite will be able to afford it for a long time. No way the peasants are allowed to use this technology. Someone will "hack" it, and that is how it will spread to the common folk.

one is head transplant to robot host body and the other is having your brain mapped to a computer

the thing i have been seeing a lot of talk about is downloading our brains to robot bodies or full on cyborgs.i know they have already started working on this stuff so i dont see us having to wait till 2050,i am not saying it will go down tomorrow but i give it another 10 years

One thing to keep in mind is what technology is like when it is first adopted.

Case in point televisions. Televisions were invented decades ago. Would you want one of the first televisions now? I sure the fuck wouldn't. Now apply that to "downloading" you into a robot, a computer, a hard drive, etc.. It will be the same thing at first. Crusty, shitty, and grainy, at best. I would rather wait for high-def, or 3-d myself. Better yet hologram style shit.
