I am sitting watching tv while sipping my morning coffee. I see this thing land on the screen of the door. It looked at first glance like a small to mid size grasshopper. I decided to have a closer look and it was black and white or gray but had only small "horms" maybe 1/2 to 3/4 inch long, not these crazy 2 inch long horns I see in pics. The whole thing was not more than 2 inches or so long! So what else could it be? If it is ALB they would have to come in and cut all the trees and it would be very intrusive and destructive. Not doing anything could start an epidemic. Meanwhile I have these plump little cinnamon brown beetles flying in what used to be my garden and is now my trimming chambers. help!

no, not earwigs, but thanks that guide could help! I have those in an old picnic table outside that I remember my family using 35 or so years ago. Sadly, no saving it. Didn't know it was in that bad of shape until using it to put trays on that had veggie plants in them. ants ended all over the bottoms of trays, and then noticed the earwigs as I tugged the table and it all fell apart (trays not there at that point, thank God!). So yeah I remember those in the benches even 35 years ago. My mom called them "pincher bugs" and I never knew what they were really called! :D {edit: upon closer look that is a common name, thought she just made that up!}
I have not seen any other of those light brown little plump beetles after killing one to try to id it. I was going to post a pic here but my bro washed it down the sink!
I have seen them before in the outdoor garden soil. I don't think they are harmful but rather not have unknown bugs around either. I am horrible at bug ID hopefully that link with help! peace
