600W Vert Donut [Kali Mist & White Russian]

Oh and I forgot!

Walked into the grow room today to check on the girls, and the Biggest cola on one of the Kali Mists was laying totally horizontally across the lower budsites......

It snapped off from the weight of the buds haha! Surprising considering how thick the stems are and how much potassium silicate I use, but anyhow....

So now all the main stems have been re-tied and a few lower branches tied for support, and the Kali with the missing main cola is now getting awesome light to the middle budsites. I'm not upset about it at all, make beginners mistakes and you get beginners results....I'll just have to be more careful from now to harvest time :)

Sure looks frosty from here ;)

Your quick today frank! haha :)

When im exploring with my 30x scope I find these amazing little nooks and crannies with what almost looks like thrichomes growing out of eachother, wish I could get a shot of it!

Smells like heaven, but not as good as this 2 month cured Kali in this joint! Actually, I better get a budshot....give me two secs ;p

haha that is how I roll my joints ;)

the burnt end is the mouthpiece, I burn it to neaten up the overlapping paper and to stiffen the cardboard "filter".

Looking amazing, as usual.

Spewing about the top of Kali snapping off. Would you say that was your fault? Ie, you saw it bending for days and just thought, "it'll be right", or was it sort of a sudden thing? Either way it sucks, but I think Irena good problem to have. So much bud that the plant can't even support itself. Means you're doing everything else right I guess.

and that's an interesting joint rolling method you got there...I've never come across that one before. I haven't tried it so I can't really talk, but it doesn't seem appealing lol.

Anyways, keep it up. Not too much longer now in the grand scheme of things.

Thanks for the kind words man!

Hehe alot of people are suss on my burning off method. It seriously looks far worse than it is, try it out and report back? ;)

And regarding the cola snapping off, my fault completely! All the Main stems have been sagging inwards towards the light, I have been anchoring them with strings the whole way through but they just got waaaaay to leggy after the flowering stretch. I think this is because I'm a vert growing noob and did a spastic job at training the plants for high yields.

The plan was never to try hit huge yields or anything though, this is just a hobby for me. I'm more about trying to grow myself a product that I could never buy in my area, no matter how much I was willing to spend.

I have now dropped the feed ec right down to 0.9 and am only feeding magnesium, sulfur, potassium and phosphorous. I want the girls to go through their full senescence stage properly, and hopefully by cutting all the micros and nitrogen I will have amazing fragrance and taste.....Seems to work a treat.

Have also traded out the 600w hps for my 600W MH Powerplant bulb. Not only does it seem to increase trichome coverage, but helps to inspect the buds as the hps and mh spectrum mix making a pretty neutral light. Home stretch now! :)

To begin with, very sorry for the let down with keeping the journal updated to anyone that might have been waiting with me until the finish. I had a bit of a security risk that i wont go into, and this journal had to take a break while I figured it out. Thought I better do a quick write up to explain how it all finished, as I really hate reading all the way through a journal to find no conclusion!

Pretty much the last pictures posted of the bud sizes were a good indicator of how large the buds finished up, but in the second last week the Kali's put on a TON of weight, was very hard to do a late tie job to stop all the branches from snapping. All the girls received very low feed levels in the last four weeks, and just plain water for the last two, as I felt I already had achieved more than enough yield and just wanted to help the flavor/burn qualities along.

I found it very hard to weigh my total harvest as the Russians come down a couple days apart, then the Kali's weeks later, but i estimate 17oz dead minimum of very nice solid buds and about 4oz of very wispy, leafy popcorn bud that was used to make gumby hash (12g). Some would laugh at this yield from a 1000w vertical setup, but I was over the moon!!!

Will post picks tonight when I have a camera of some buds from the Kali and Russian, and whats left of the hash :)

A fair few of my friends have smoked my harvest with me, 90% of which had no idea it was grown by me. Watching their reactions was hilarious! My hometown, which I visit very rarely nowadays, has only terrible brown dirt weed everywhere. On my last visit the Kali and Russian come along, it had a few of my friends with faces white as chalk, swearing that it was laced with something.

The Kali Mist I wasn't "too" surprised about in the potency department, because its always been a wild ride. But the White Russian had me in shock! Having smoked this cutting for a fair while now, I never knew it could hit this level of high. Smoking it through a bong, the second i start to exhale my face goes very numb, heart rate explodes and leaves me with the most unreal head high. Very far cry from the stuff I was smoking produced in a commercial growing environment, I'm a huge White Russian fan now!

Although last week I went to visit my buddy who grows the Russian in large amounts to get some for my friend. Bringing some of mine to compare with his, mine was much more trichome covered and a fair bit drier (still with a very tiny amount of moisture) But the thing that annoyed me was that his smelt soooo much better! Much more rich and pungent aroma, we think it might be the difference in moisture levels though and nothing too major....I'll be jarring up for curing a tad bit earlier in the drying process next time for sure.

Anyway, Pics tonight :)

And this Monday gone I had two lovely Herijuana girls pop from seed from S annie's seeds. I must admit I'm really excited to have a strong indica growing now after this Kali and Russian, my head needs a break from these crazy sativa lol :hide::hide::hide:
