AhhhhhhhhhhhhYA!!! Turned out to be SUPER POOPER moon for me. To much cloud cover at the horizon, moon didn't show until it was way past the point where it gets magnified at earth's edge by the atmosphere. Still was a nice full moon, but not too much different from your avg full moon.

Im not sure what hour were expecting with the super moon. Its only slighly closer, which equated to about 10-15 percent bigger (something like from 24 arcminutes to 29 arcminutes (don't quote me on those numbers))...not enough for us to notice with the naked eye.

Also, the moon does not get magnified by the earths atmosphere. It is exactly the same size in the sky at the horizon and when it is directly overhead. Its just an optical illusion which makes it look bigger, but there is actually no difference in size.

No mate, you're wrong. How can it LOOK bigger but but not be taking up more area of the sky? It cant. It NEVER looks bigger due to MAGNIFICATION by the atmosphere.

I dont think you think the actual size (ie mass and volume) of the moon changes if thats what you thought I meant. Just the its apparent size in the sky. Which is no differnt near the horizon to directly overhead.

Like anything made useing a method or with materials that are not in context with their age or location , or some image that is not within human imagination.

There are no structures on earth that required more than the hand of man in their construction.

Ancient paintings and gliths are so styalised to a specific and now unknown culture that they can be interpreted anyway you like , to flog a book in EVD,s case or to promote a web site now.

The Vatican also has an on site observatory and they own one of the most powerful telescopes in the world in the Arizona desert. If there was nothing of interest out there why would they expend all of this time an energy watching the sky.

Honestly, I wouldn't go to the Bible for anything, let alone for an accurate history, let alone as something to base a belief on. The Bible isn't worth anything. Anything that can be learned from the Bible can be learned elsewhere, where its not tainted.

There is no such thing as being too skeptical. You're either skeptical, or you're not. There isn't a lot to skepticism, just a basic need for evidence. Not just any evidence,.but evidence that is proper science. I could point to a menagerie of evidence, but show me a good paper, peer reviewed, and published in a respected journal.

You are aware that there is a generational pattern of advances in science, where the older generation who can't accept new ideas has to retire before a younger generation of scientists can be allowed to establish a new way of looking at things. Plate Tectonics Theory is a good example.
