I had real good results with the Nirvana Northern Lights x Shiva, I bought from Seed Boutique; November 2011.
good question Jointed...heh,....also heard Joey's weed was a good ver to....where to get any of these anymore?....
all I have are old hyb stock myself...so yea not sure what to tell ppl..
I'll say this...this whole internet thing is such a small % of the Read World...try asking your elders if they happen to have smoked herb in the 70's...or 80's even...because it ain't the Breeders who make it happen..Its just avr folk..and just like Nevil ppl share and love great herb..
Lets go back over a few details for those hard Thai folk...
Nevil did not make NL...also NL was in seed when it was given to Nev...
NL has a story for every seed that was said to exist...every grower has a diff story...Lets keep it simple...
if Nev received NL as a seed line..That means 1 or 2 things...the Original Plant was selfed..or Hybred...
Ive heard Nev got 11 seeds and a couple cuts of the line..Ive heard only the seed end and only certain phenoms were used...
but heres the thing...
NL was always short n squat and packed a nice punch...and why it was "Passed" around..
Fact is NL was introduced as Cannabis Indica...
Note the docs posted below...87...
also the BigBud quote in the same 87 catalog....
This was and is what the Euro ver Is....and the Euro ver is allot more "mixed" than the American orig PNW ver..
Now if others are still making claims that Thai was involved then all they have to do is Show it...and good luck since the history of it will contradict that..
I say what I feel and have learned with some pretty extensive research, and I'll stand on that ground...

Nevil purchased several seed lines of NL, 1-8 I believe. He also had the original cut. He searched through the seed lines to find something similar to the cut but had no luck. If you look through his posts at MNS you will find the exact quote. Also, MNS Ortega is a great seed line.

I highly respect both Shanti and Nev...plus they use our grow of g13/WW for promo...heh..so they have been very kind to us as well...what trips me out atm tho...
why rel a inline NL based line as Ortega?.....very puzzling to me...but will that stop me?...heh...Ive already got a pk or their Ortega as well..and have seen the grows..

Even tho the youngins are up to their bashing again atm...These lines are Solid and have been since the introduction to indoor...
Ive only got 3-4 friend on MNS..Nev, Shanti and my boy in Cali..StonyPuffs...but my main man Tony isnt to far from there either...its all jelly man....keep rollin

I would avoid Ortegas .
Have seen more bad than good with that line . Runts , low vigour and intersexing are rife .
It maybe represents the NL1, but NL5 ? Get outa here !
Shanti may need to work that one some what yet ...

I'd stay away from BCSC NL these days.
They lost the ORIGINAL male years back and It's not even close to the same offering!

I hear ya. I know about the lost genetics and everything that transpired back then, but I am curious if anyone has actually tried it since the occurance? Even Emery said it was lost ... still curious though ... anyone got experience?

I have found the best NL Phenotype in the MNS Ortega
(NL#1 x NL#5). This plant if fantastic, yes I had to do selection and be mind full of hermaphrodite issues which I did have, but not many. I have grown it many time in different ways and it is always awesome. Smells like cat piss mixed with body ordor. Very pungent when grinding and smoking. It grows very kush like and starts out slow flowering but later in flower it really stacks it on and it so wonderful smelling. It has been a joy to grow and everyone who tries it says well done.

I'd put my money with sensi seeds. Every one uses their northern lights. Dr atomics is the old school nl2 x nl5 crossed with a sensi seeds pure indica mom from what i read. Dr atomics has some sativa in it thoe.
303 seeds has an aurora mix pack or some shit like that, just a min.

screw nl, ... grown it for 2 rounds 10+ years ago, from some unknown seedbank (a local headshop sold 7 strains in baggies with no company info)... long story short, stopped growing it after the second round since that stuff made me lethargic and depressive, if i remember right, i used to smoke a spliff and sit around unable to move and thinking about all the chores needing to be done, said fuck it and smoke some more, ... this cycle went on for days... but it sure tasted great, straight citrus flava...

I just finished a pack of 303 NL "citrus " pheno. I have to say they were all good. Clasic NL, citrus not the pine flavor. Effects were right on. I used to get nl5 back in the mid '90s and tgis is right there.not as frosted as the #5 but still well worth the grow. 303 wrre are extremely uniform. Large yields and lightly aromatic, clean and strong indica stone.
Highly recommended.

I tried to hatch a pack of KC Brains NL quite a few years back and had only one germ for me. Lucky for me it was female so I grew the bitch out. For me it was a great plant with huge pine cone shaped buds with a very loud taste and smell of pine. I was so mad about the germ rate I didn't clone her...so sad as I loved to smoke her..Anyone else grow KC's NL ?
On a side note Joey has been mentioned a couple of times in this thread about his NL. Lucky for me I grabbed a few of his strains and NL was one of them. I have yet to germ any of these but now my interest has been aroused so I may have to go for it. Anyone else has any info would be nice about his NL line. Thanks.
