Update 22/6 44 days old (today)

me and my friend checked out the ladies for two days ago but i didn't got time to make an update so i do it now.
when we got there i saw that the plants have gotten to big for the pots to hold them up, so two of them was laying on top of each other like domino bricks... but overall they looked fine!
now here's the scary part, we have been standing there by the plants for like 2 minutes when we suddenly hear a dog or some other kind of animal barking about 100 meters away, then the barking sound comes closer and out of nowhere i see the animal running like crazy just 15-20 meters away from us, so we started running down the mountain to hide in the forest for about 5 minutes. does anyone have any idea what kind of animal that sounds/barks like a dog? or was it a dog?
anyway here's some pictures

here you can see how much they've bent themselves

here's a nice plant

It would be easy to tell if you actually saw the animal, but obviously you didn't. Most likely it was a "rådyr", not sure of the swedish name, but it's a small deer. It's a lot of them in the forest around here and I see or hear them a lot of times. Nothing to worry about for you, but maybe for your plants...

Forgot to mention your plants look amazing so far, especially taking the bad weather lately into consideration!

Aye! Nice looking plants!
You are a few weeks ahead of me :)

About the sound.. A dog seems most likely.
Deers (rådjur, dovhjort, kronhjort) can make sounds similar to barks. But its highly unlikely that any would charge at you because you smell human, and probably made alot of noise too.

Foxes can howl-bark and sound really really miserable, terrified, sad, but thats only when they mate during late march- early april i think...

So; my $$ is on a dog. Maybe the owner was walking around and the dog decided to take a detour by its own. Or it was a huntingdog that sliped from they owner/home and was out on a adventure.

Id check the plants asap, and carefully check for footprints and animaltracks..

Best of luck!

I still believe it was a rådyr, the barking from a male when it stands it's ground (hevder revir) can easily be mistaken for a dog. Not uncommon at all that they come towards you, especially not if the wind was coming from the dear at you so it wouldn't feel the smell. Fem still has some good advice tho...
Best of luck bro:ying:

Could be youre near a foxhole. Which would be a bonus, eating up the small herbivores.

Your plants look fantastic! With all the moss/lichen, I keep expecting to see a reindeer.

hey man,
if ya want to get rid of the deer or other critters eating/checking out your plants: just grind some super hot chillies up, dilute it with a bit of water, and spray it on the leafes of ya plants. i am sure after taking one sniff/lick/bite of this, the critter won't try your plant again :) but in my experience deer only like to chew on veging plants anyway, once there is trichome production going on, most animals know that it is sticky and makes them slow (not best for a little deer to be stoned as fuck when having to worry about getting attacked).

also for next season you should not use these cans/copper tubes around your plants... or use bigger ones. the stems can easily outgrow this thing.

i am digging your spots. really nice camo work and overall happy plants. get a few more spots like these every year (at least thats my plan). overgrow with style :tiphat:

Your autos look alot better than mine do. I had a rabbit chew the heads off 2 of my plants that were just starting to flower. The ones abit over...untouched. I think I put 4 of them right on the rabbit trail. LOL The tops were still in the dirt so I guess they didnt like it.
Keep up the great work. You have a supreme spot right there. Gaurd it and keep it a top secret.

i have not got any problems with animals at all, not even with snails. so the only thing im worried about now is that someone gonna find them.
yes about the cans, i dont think im gonna do like that next year because they are very unstable...

Looking really sweet:) I'm sure you will have a nice autumn. Can you tell how deep the soil in your spots are? Making beds at rocks/mountain tops looks to be something I will have to consider as well:)

the soil depth at spot 1 is about 30-40 cm deep, and at spot 2 its about 40-50 cm deep. just the cans from the beginning are ~12 cm :)
hope that will answer you question :)
