So im starting foliar feeding and am curious if its as important to pH foliar sprays? And if so, To what level? I ve never fed this way but have heard of the benefits and have some Magic Green by House & Garden that I really need to start!!:thank you:

Gulp...I hope not. I never do. I figure as long as you're not way out of range, like below 5 or above 7.5ish it should be fine.

I know through experience that I've never had any mixture of nutes/water come in outside of those numbers.

Be good to hear some other opinions on this.

I Also Have Extreme Gardening's CalCarb and that makes the pH jump into the high 9's! I am also using RO water and know that its more sensitive to that, should i use tap water, or mix it in with the RO water? Any help would be much appreciated!!

5.8

And this comes from someone that does organics. As organics you are not ever suppose to PH anything.

That being said I believe it is Tom Hill that the 5.8 came from. Then after some reading it is mentioned in many different University texts.

I noticed a difference after I adjusted to 5.8

Not a lot, but a little bit.

Hey - i follow these guidelines

1) pH should remain in nutral range 5.5 to max 8 - use vinegar for pH down & baking soda for pH up.

Also keep sprayer clean and dont use chlorinated water

2) Spray under & above leaves

3) Temps below 28degree celcius - 80farenheit favors absorption as stomatas are not closed

Edit to note - that magic green from house & garden is "just" NPK - i would make sure that the plants have NPK wise what it needs throug the rootszone.

Be carefull with NPK foliar feeds dont make it to strong re-check what the ratio to water is on the bottel

Get some kelp meal and give it a quick soak (Hours) and dilute it 50-50 with water - pH adjust with vinegar

More advanced use aminoacids (enhance uptake of metals - boost nutrient uptake- systemic poison), fermented sugars (boost nutrient uptake) and applying plant growth regulators (control growth).

Some pepol advocate that foliar feeding is best used for correcting mineral defs and to apply PGR but an important aspect is also to boost the plant saps that are released by the roots to stimulate bacterial growth and thereby boosting nutrient uptake. The last is my main reason to foliar feed i newer really have any mineral defs and i dont need to control growth to such a degree that PGR allow so i just apply quick soaked seaweed - aminos with some glucose

By the way PGR= Plant growth regulator= herbicide=poison. At least in most cases that I have seen and read about PGR's should be avoided. Good info up there Dk just wanted to round out that topic.

As far as foliar PH goes, I've always been interested to see if a low ph foliar spray (like 3.0 or so) would deter powdery mildew- much like a sulfur burner which just raises the ph of the surface of the leaf so that fungi cannot grow there.

Some PGR are nasty chemicals that u dont need for growing cannabis - or that is my opion its way overkill - to some extend foliar feeding is also overkill - i got super results before i used foliar feeding but i just like it so i do it.

On regards on controlling PM with foliar spray u can apply Lacto acid bacteria - i do that untill week 3 in flower (1 time pr week)
They lower the pH on the leave surface and prevent PM or in theory - it dont stop it on plants that easy mold up so i question how effective it is but i still do it - i add a splash of LAB to my general foliar mix
