Hey Folks,

Just invested in 3 x 1200 watt LED lights which will be suspended over 18 plants, 6 per light

I will be running a SCROG grow using 6 plants per light and due to making more room I can have a larger screen :)

The system is a modified gt901 NFT tank with a 60 litre header tank at the end, joined by 2 50mm rain water pipes.
At both ends of the system are 1" drains with 3000lph pumps on the bottom 2, pumping water into the header tank creating Dissolved Oxygen.
At the base of NFT tray will be fast flowing water been sucked from the header tank through the NFT tray and back to the header.
I am using a Hailea hc300 aquarium chiller into the header tanks with water temp set to 21c.

My E.C is at 1.8 and my PH is 5.8.
The strains I will be running are Killer Queen, Stardawg, The White, Warlock, Psycho D and WD-40 through out the period of the grow but not straight away.

here are some specs and pics of the lights before hanging them:

Hey Greenplant, thanks for dropping by.

Glad you mention the power consumption as I also got the meter and glasses today so here is the draw of power in watts:

Yep only 467 watts for a 1200 watt LED light don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing lol as they said it runs at 720 watts?

I am loving the pink glow though lol and the plants have responded since I swapped from MH this morning the leaves are now starting to face up like they are preying. Pics of the plants will follow once I add more to the system, but here is the room in pink:

Well done Dank, straight out the traps and on with it!

Are you concerned that the actual power consumption is lower that specified?

Please remind me what area you'll be covering with each light.

Watchin this closely.

If I was a hippy I'd send you positive vibes or something like that.

Brilliant DD Their Loving The Light :D
Look Cool Under that Glow too I bet.

That Power Usage from a 1200w is Phenomenal! :smoker: :smoke:

Very nice DD!!

Have you tried all of the panels?Seems low for a 1200w,most led's are run between 50 and 60%,so would have expected you to see somewhere between 600 and 720.

I'd of sat a counted the bulbs, just to make sure(lol).

Glad to see you got some glasses, you need them.Is a proper ball ache trying to see anything with multi-coloured dots etched on your eye-balls!

Thanks mate, yep I thought I would just crack on with it.
I am not overly concerned with the power consumption as what really matters to me is results and they are still to be seen.

The area each light covers is 2' x 2' lol so they should be ok.

Hey greenplant greenplantthey do appear to be liking it so far and it does look pretty crazy up there.

Yep if these are 1200 watts as advertised then at that power consumption I am laughing.

Thanks jaded, I will be trying all the panels now and counting all the LEDs to have peace of mind, all I did was checked they all worked so far and they do and they are the 46cm square as advertised.
The glasses are great as its as trippy as fuck up there.

the lights are from alibaba? (LG LED)

No mate as harry said from China.

Thanks mate, they look awesome :woohoo:maybe i'll get one for a 4x4 tent.

Before spending watch and see how they do.:tiphat:

welcome to the world of LED's. the power usage stated by the manufacturer is often inaccurate. what it uses from the wall gives you a much better idea of how powerful it is and what HPS it will be equivalent to.

i love LED's but they take a bit of getting used to.

good luck with the grow

Hey mate just plugged in all 3 and one is 507 watts, one is 441 watts and the other is 487 watts lol I have emailed the seller. There are 240 bulbs per unit 16 down and 15 across.

Hey Verdant thanks for the welcome to LED World I hope its a good choice? I know one thing its a lot cooler up there considering today's temps.

If the equivalent in hps is what they are at the wall then what a mixed bag I have got here are the pics:

How do you mean takes a bit of getting used to mate? In which way? Thanks :tiphat:

there being driven at less than 50% but dont sweat it you got 450-500w of plant available light per unit which is still probably more than a 600w bulb maybe even a 1k bulb

speak to the seller and ask why

yeah they might match up to a 600, thats probably a good estimate. try a similar footprint.

how different? thats kind of a whole thread in itself mate lol, but they are for sure cooler and less of a fire risk too i reckon. you need to really work the canopy and get it full of buds to get the most out of LEDS , but guess you could say that about any type of grow.

check the threads in my sig most of them are LED grows, smaller than yours but you might get some useful info.

Didn't know they only ran @ 50%.
Learnt something new today,
mack.

Excellent setup dude. I'm checked in.

My experience re:yields is equal to slight advantage LED per watt. That is to say I yield average .58 gpw HID and I'm waiting for dry weight from LED harvest but should be the same to higher. Running a true 3000 watts each way.
