Aloha Tribesman! Happy 2013 Medicine 4 the People!

Aloha Tribesman... Check out this new product we picked up out of Grass Valley today... It use to be called SN14... OMRI certified... Talked with a representative this afternoon... For packaging consistency, and guarantee, now they slap a 12-0-0 on the label... However, their website claims, "It is hard to believe, yes, but SN 14 truly is guaranteed at 14% minimum. Our latest test shows an 18.58% nitrogen with 18.47% being water soluble. Most vegetable-based organic nitrogen fertilizers are around 4% to 8%, and most aren't even fully plant available, which is the real key to rapid uptake and immediate growth response." While talking with a Biodiversity representative over the phone, they claimed that new tests results has placed their product at 19.4% - Even "higher!"

For more test results, case studies, testimonials and pictures check out their PROOF BINDER @: http://sn14organicnitrogen.com/docs/proofbinders/sn14-proof-binder.pdf

At any rate, we purchased a 50lb bag... At a rate of 1 teaspoon per gallon of water... It should last us a while. This season we will be alternating between SN14 with Pure Protein Dry in consistent intervals and especially the day after a Calcium 25 foliar feed... That amazing nano-fish has been working its MAGIC - love that organic Cod Amino Acid Protein Hydrolysate aroma!!!
Here are a few immediate highlights I pulled from SN14's website:

SN 14 is derived from vegetable-based amino acids. It is over 90% organic matter. SN 14 is an amino acid form of nitrogen aka "Protein Nitrogen." Typical amino acid fertilizers are slow releasing, and do not provide the 100% PAN (Plant Available Nitrogen) that SN 14 provides. This is what makes SN 14 organic high nitrogen different. It is 100% plant available.
"Soluble Organic Nitrogen is a sweet and savory smelling yellow tan powder. Soluble
Organic Nitrogen is also an excellent source of amino acids. Amino acids form short
polymer chains called peptides or longer chains either called polypeptides or proteins.
Amino Acids are effective chelating agents and activate phytohormones. This product is a
readily available plant food source to increase growth and vitality of growing plants.
Organic Nitrogen is highly soluble and may be mixed with other fertilizers and organic
amendments."

Heya FTPO! Nice to see you back and stoked on the season!

FYI- 'Pure Protien Dry' isn't sold under that name anymore. It is now 'Ocean Grown' distributed by Organic Nutrients, the Insect Frass people.

Similar products, Ocean Grown and SN-14, with the fish being superior, IMO. It has all those aminos and on average, much higher rates of them. Are you both foliar and root feeding, and at what rate are you using the fish? I foliar @2T/gallon once a week and am going to start incorporating root drenchs. Love the Cal25>Ocean Grown 1-2 punch. Blessings!

My buddy at Custom Hydro carries the ferti nitro soybean stuff. I am loving it.

You gotta have leaf biology to make this work but...1 gallon water, 1 cup soft rock phosphate, 3 grams ferti nitro and a pinch of fulvic. The soft rock does not dissolve but it is so fine it just stays in suspension. Leaf biology will break it down and make it plant available.

Ca, P, Si, micros, aminos and fulvic all in one spray. The aminos feed the leaf biology. I have no clue if that Si becomes available or not. But I do know the plants be lovin it.

I started mixing B with Mg and more micros and really trace stuff in a separate spray.

Heya FTPO! Nice to see you back and stoked on the season!

FYI- 'Pure Protien Dry' isn't sold under that name anymore. It is now 'OG Fish', distributed by Organic Nutrients, the Insect Frass people.

Similar products, OG Fish and SN-14, with the fish being superior, IMO. It has all those aminos and on average, much higher rates of them. Are you both foliar and root feeding, and at what rate are you using the fish? I foliar @2T/gallon once a week and am going to start incorporating root drenchs. Love the Cal25>OG Fish 1-2 punch. Whatchu talkin bout Willis?
OG fish? For real?

I just bought 25lbs of PPD from organicag and they still call it PPD.

After Listening to some John Kempf lectures (http://bionutrient.org/library/audio-archive)Im interested in seeing what Boron and can do for my garden. What is your source of B? Care to share your recipe? Thanks

Albion. Write me if you want.

It will burn though (and I know that for certain ). I would not push beyond what Veg is running. The burn is not just about the absolute value of the B, it is also highly dependent on the Ca:B ratio

My thinking is if you have any hollow stem anywhere on the plant you don't have enough B. Hard to transport anything through hollow.

Check out that article on Biodynamic quality control by Hugh Lovell...Si also plays a major part in the picture along with Ca and B. It is in the same C Ray post with the John Kempf stuff.

I see all this 50lb agricultural material from Feri-organic site, but why not just use some Dr. Earth? Is there a big difference in raw fulvic from company to company? Looks exactly the same as the stuff I got from Dr. Earth or Down to Earth. (can't remember which one I have)

Father Earth- The fish product is actually called Ocean Grown. I don't think OAgP is supposed to be selling 'PPD', but there may still be some floating around at the shops. I was unaware it was currently being sold through their website. There was a bit of an issue between OAgP and Organic Nutrients over the fish.

Veg N Out

Need at least 4 to 1 Ca to B in order to provide enough extra charge to attract the other minerals needed to replicate new cell or you're toast. Right now I am at 6 to 1 and I like it.

If one was to add extra minerals in the spray like in PhotoMag it's even better I suppose.

This year one thing I had the Worm Soil Factory do for me was add a half gallon of this on 120 yards of soil because of the exact reasons mentioned in the PhotoMag product brief

:)

Getting ready to try Sea Crop too...Lots of new things on the menu this year. This stuff needs to go quasimedilegal already so I can really do the research on how to get the most oil weight out of them in the end...

Didn't do all this for no Salad greens that's for sure...

I'd like to find a ultra fine mesh soft rock powder..Like 325 mesh or something.

On another note...Where did the heat go?

hell yea. getting the plant to have enough energy to produce fats is gonna be the key to driving up essential oil production...you know, since it is a fat.

great post veg.

fuckin no edit button for me.

cobalt also prevents ethylene gas from forming. lets the plant reach a little more of its potential. or so they say...guess we will see.

Hey all, lovin all these tips on foliars. It's an area I want to experiment with this year... so, I'm hearing Calcium 25 and Ocean Grown as a foliar. Anything else to make it complete? I don't like to add too many things at once so I can be clear that these work for me. Also, thinking about doing a top dressing of some sort...

Right now I'm running the General Organics line (this is all outdoors in 200 + 300 gl smart pots with 500gl res and vermifire soil), ACT once per week, and Overdrive at the end. Seems to work pretty good for me but, there is definitely room for growth, ah-ha. ;)

Thanks you for sharing your hard earn knowledge!

no point in me mentioning brands because I 'm across the Great Water from you ... but at onset of flowering I soil AND foliar Ca 7% + N 2% once a fortnight ... and extra K and silicates every alternate fortnight.

cheers!

To clarify- don't mix anything with the Cal25 when you spray. The day after that though, I've been mixing Ocean Grown with Sea Green and they are exploding. The OG/SG once a week, Cal25 every other. Sounds like you have a good setup. Word up on the Vermifire!

ppd is awesome.

watch out, things are going to blow up once the night temps come up after this next bout of moisture coming up. The good ones wont skip a beat, the bad ones are gonna have to recover from overwatering issues.....be wise my friends
