China led experience

After much thought I took a chance on some budget leds.Ended up getting two lights from china
115 watt dual switch..switched out half the leds for 6500k cree xpe
Noah 4 350 watt...switched out half the leds for mix of whites
Initial observations noah is not as bright as I was expecting. I even opened it up and took out the glass from all reflectors. Quite a bit brighter now. Did that with my spectra and pro source so nothing new. Noah also runs hot compared to spectra unit.

The dual switch was looking good until it shut off. Looks like its overheating. Bummer. So much for the cree upgrade. I'll give the rep a chance to sort this out.
I'll give a review of the noah 4 after I see what it can do

Got my customized dual switch veg light working. It dosent take much extra heat to make the temperature shutoff trigger.
Overall happy with purchase, having the extra white leds makes it a lot easier on the eyes. Now hopefully it will flower okay...

Put a 2200rpm silver stone fan in the dual switch. Came with a fan speed adjuster so now I have a triple switch..lol. Actually worked out kind of good. When I run just the red and blues I can turn the fan to half speed now and save a little eclectric.
Went together pretty easy, just spliced and reused factory connectors.
Probably gonna do the two fans in the noah 4 also. No problems with it but would be nice to get it running a little cooler. The first quintuple switch light...lol

Thanks bro..just trying something different from the norm
If you contact the company make sure ask them about a fan upgrade and operating temps
I'm finding mine heats the room up to 98f...suffered some significant heat stress on my poor girls that were healthy prior to change of light
On the bright side one girl that's finishing up is swelling very nicely
Kinda wondering why they didn't use a sunflower heatsink on these integrated leds instead of the standard ones also
Will be updating with killawatt reading and temps after fans are changed out

One other thing is the shape of this light, being more square than rectangular doesn't fit we'll in a 3 x 2. It's close to the 2' (more like 20") wall of tent. In a bigger space it might not heat up so much. I still think it needs better fans though...
