Haven't given my opinion yet actually.

Hell I would be the costco of weed if I could legally.....Bulk quality and at good price.

lol

More of is this what you see happening with the upcoming changing.

Once the 5oz per month per person quota is reached..no more licences being issued.

So lets say a Big Agg gets a licence to produce 25% of gov't estimated monthly usage....add a couple more....and the "pipe" dream some have of opening disp goes bye-bye even faster..

interesting that you say that...

I will honestly say med user's are a picky bunch and know their meds. We kinda have to be..

If you don't think big BIZ is ignoring this, your sadly mistaken.

No limiting factor on where they can obtain their genetics, and with the right "gardener" overseeing production it will definately be possible to pump out good meds.

They might not be the absolute top shelf...but they will be better than avg comercial.

I could give a complete newb cuts, setup the infrastructure, and just have them water following a simple feeding schedule, and more importantly a harvest date/indicator.

Add in automation and it becomes a case of set,wait/water,chop,sell...Rinse/Repeat.

After that, it is just scale and available manpower...both of which aren't an issue with big corps..

The only thing they need are Strains, and a master gardener...and TRAINABLE Labour.

OK, I will put it another way...

Agri-corp comes to you, offers you stupid crazy wage, plus incentive bonus package, and a pool of skilled trailable labour, high end gear, etc.

Would you not be interested....No stress, just overseeing the growing high quality meds, your strains, your way...big wage, bonuses, vacation, pension, etc. etc.

They would handle all the minor details...no more grunt work...just focus on R&D, and keep the show rolling..

i have never heard of any business where you make more and work less.

wages usually are equal to responsibility with the current global model. greed is relative through every indistry as well. they would hire an immigrant for 5 bucks an hour under the table, the way they do it everywhere else

Read some of the threads about large scale indoor med grows in Colorado.
Keeping the space clean and insect free requires serious design knowledge and flawless execution.
One lazy water boy has an "oh shit" mistake that he doesn't tell anyone about and things can slide downhill fast.

I am not saying that it can't be done, obviously it can.
Just that setting up a supply chain for MEDICINE in this business with no allowance for interruptions is setting it up for failure.

Of course, the politicians do not make decisions like this based on what is best for the people, but for their corporate masters who keep them in power.
This model is designed to provide a monopoly on the business for the friends of politicians. Nothing more.

When I look at all the family vineyard labels in my wine shelf, it makes me sad for what could be, knowing the people who decide how it will be done are being paid very well to fuck me.

my concern with the whole corporate take over of cultivation is that much like anything else that is impacted by multinational corporations doing something, the bottom line is profit (much like big AG, the prison industrial complex in the states and soon to be here, the oh so awe inspiring might of the US industrial military complex, you get the point)

I hear those of you who are thinking that 'there's nothing wrong with that'
but imho there is a difference between making a profit and raping the souls of humanity to make a buck and not giving a shit aboot this planet...

or the other 800 lb gorilla in the room, Monsanto...
we know they are the definition of evil when it comes to corporation meets nature and I had read aboot some type of genotyping going on, if it is true or not I have no clue but whatever Monsanto sticks their fingers into you can be guaranteed it's not a good thing for humanity.

medmaker:

I get you regarding the anti-social, or guru-mentality....Some of the best growers I have known have almost all had their quirks, some can't talk to strangers, others think they know everything, others are just sketchy as hell and couldn't direct anything. OCD seems to be a bit more common...

Get some passionate ag students straight outta univ....with the right teachers...they could get the job done.

I guess I can see the possibilities.
Oh big biz might take a bit of a bath in the beginning...but they will get it dialed in pretty quick.

I would bet faster than the USA 2, we tend to learn from their mistakes and avoiding some of them ourselves.

There will be independents...but I suspect they might be scrutanized a wee bit more than Giant Agri-biz..

That is if Agri-biz wants the $$$....and they Always want the $$$...lol

i have set up, ran and dialed million dollar grows. hydroponically. it aint a 600 in a 4x4 or 5x5.

you cant even find a little brat at canadian tire to find a product in the back, let alone expect them to even know what you are saying.

all these prima donnas are lost in their iphones. immigrants are on the rise due to this fact. and they would rather pick bluebeeries and collect over winter then help out in a massive weed grow. thats all.

just talking from experience.

if anyone has 1,000,000 for my retainer, then i will consider any proposal once my lawyer reads it over

I guess I just see it going commercial pretty quick...once Big biz figures out why comercial growers are so successful they will dial it in..

Not my gig personally, more than 6 or 8 lights worth and I get overwhelmed....But then I work alone.

I liked the coop idea I was pitched by one guy...just not a reality.

I dunno, if I was in the market for seeds, and saw pictures of a guys gear, and then proof that the strains tested "high"...well that is info I would like to see.

See a 100 seed test grow, see how varying the pheno's are....still a small sampling..but to even know there is variation, but it is good variation...truth in advertising I guess

Taste is huge also for me....with multiple people smoking it...well pretty hard to BS that.

Just my thoughts after smoking some of my morning sativa :)
