Swamp Thang Same to you man, good luck in your swamp! We luckily don't have gators, but we have tons of mosquitos, ticks, and chiggers(not many of them this year thank goodness). I'd definitely like to see pics of what you end up with out there.

I've been pretty busy, with harvests and temperature problems in my CFL grow. It was really hot for a few days, the girls outside seemed to love it, because of the swamp they usually have plenty of water. It seems to be cooling off now, a few nights in the 50's soon, hopefully the outdoor gals won't mind.

I was able to feed them a bit during the hot days, just a small dose of some Earth Juice Grow. I put the second round out, all 11 spots are filled now. The insects were the worst I ever remember them being. There was a constant cloud of mosquitos biting right through my clothes, and I took a dozen ticks off me when I got back home. I used plenty of (natural) bug spray, too. If nothing dies I won't have to put anymore out, thank goodness.

Most of the girls are about waist high already, I'm doing way way better than I did my other years so far. Bagseed can't handle my area, and the soil I used didn't help (way too heavy).

Spot #1

Skunk #1 planted, the one I did indoors did real well, still drying, but smells fantastic, tons of resin, and the hash had me tripping out:

Jorge's Diamond #1 (Dutch Passion). Doing the best of the girls, possibly just due to being in a container, but I heard good things about this one. I supercropped her top, came back a few days later and she had fixed the damage with no sign whatsoever and grew like 6 inches lol. Tried it again, hopefully she'll end up bushier, she doesn't seem to mind so far:

THC Bomb, growing out of her runt phase. I'm thinking about LST on this one, probably next time, she's a little stretchy otherwise:

Didn't get hopelessly lost this time! Found it pretty quick thank heavens. Seems like some animals visited, but didn't really damage any foliage. I might let the two bigger girls here grow for awhile before I decide if I want to do any training on them. I amended all the plants here with some worm castings from my bag that I had finally found.

Critical HOG, she has a strange gash maybe 5-10 inches up on her stem, it was pretty deep and seemed recent. It was over an inch long and running vertically up the stem. The didn't seem to be having any trouble to me. I have no idea what kind of animal would make that kind of mark:

Skunk #1 planted here. The soil looked like it was dug in a bit before I planted in it. I had an idea to try and train a plant along some chicken wire and make sort of a scrog, maybe on this one, if not, I'd like to LST her when she grows up:

Blue Rhino, you can see the soil was dug in by something and she's leaning , but otherwise okay, I fixed her up and added some of those worm castings:

I'm not sure about the light here, the brush grew in a lot, so these girls may stretch a bit more than the others.

Planted a White Widow, I heard animals like this one, I hope not, but maybe they'll take it as a sacrifice and leave everything else alone lol:

Also planted a Skunk #1, but I forgot to take a picture afterward, but it's for the better, as I can only put 5 picture per post, and 3 posts for an update is a little ridiculous. The hard part is over now, only have to watch the weather, do some further training, and feed when I can, then watch the buds grow! Update for this week, condensed things a bit to fit more pics in each post.
It's been pretty rainy. Girls haven't seemed to mind much however. The bigger girls are pretty much all putting off a reek now. A couple of the bigger ones are already up to my chest. Doing a lot of LST this year, my first year I had a good experience with it, makes a great canopy of buds if you can keep the main stem nearly parallel to the ground. Got an ounce off of one plant that got mostly shade during flower, nothing but rain for a month during mid flower, and she had only a few gallons of okay soil (too heavy, especially for the weather). Put off like 20-25 tops of dank bud. It even got totally stripped of leaves during veg, still yielded well for what it went through imo.

Super auto is already putting out female preflowers. Little skunk started early on the LST:

Jorge's Diamond, her supercropping didn't go as well as I liked. The stem split in the middle where I pinched, so there is a small hole through the stem towards the top. The stem did get thicker around the hole, though. She doesn't seem to mind so far, probably going to let her do her own thing for awhile:

The two older plants here are quite large, as big as the Jorge's Diamond now.

Skunk #1 has grown quite a bit since last time, took right to the spot:

Blue Rhino, some sort of weird leaf damage on here, some brown spots. Maybe some sort of shock from being dug up before or all the rain, otherwise looks healthy. LST'd her, she was leaning slightly that way anyway:

Critical HOG, the gash in her stem looks like it healed a bit and hasn't affected her growth. I saw preflowers on her, I didn't bother checking any of the others besides the auto, I just noticed it while I was there. At this point I'm just going to let her grow without training:

I totally got lost on the way out of this spot and ended up at spot #3! I hadn't visited there yet, so it was rather lucky. I was able to then orient my self and get out of the swamp after that.

Skunk and White Widow here still small. I tried to clear some of the local plants, as they are quite vigorous and were choking these little girls of light:

i can't tell for sure what kind of material that string is made of, but i would avoid cotton or other materials that hold moisture, and replace it with plastic ties or something.

come end of the season those are easy ways for mold and rot to start from what I've learned... besides that everything looks great!

keep it rocking bro, looking forward to your updates, last season u kicked major ass, i'm sure this season won't be different

Buddah Watcha: It is plastic, actually, pretty useful stuff, whenever I used it in the past it didn't break down or anything. Good tip though, I have used material in the past that could have given me mold issues, never thought about it. Thanks man!

Well there's a bit of a storm coming in the next few days. Hopefully it doesn't damage anything, but the trained plants should be okay because of the added support and low profile even if it gets pretty bad. It's been nice and sunny the past few days however, dried things out a little bit.

Lucky you! Now you don't need to water! Plus if you have acidic rain, the plants will be stoked! The soil here in Socal is very alkaline - and the rain is acidic - balancing things out and providing clutch watering - opposed to the garden hose chemical treated water.

All the plants look great man. Too bad you can't brew teas and watch the plants blast off!

great job, herbs looking great. I have a question, in the swamp areas what did you find your ph at? and did you add any lime or time release to the bottom of the holes before hand or did you go compleate premixed bag? I'm gonna put out a few one footers today also. best of luck.

LyryC It's been real rainy, so I'm hoping they don't suffer from over watering. It'll probably dry out soon, and I can occasionally bring them a feeding of some liquid nutes and some molasses. I've got no tea brewing set up at this point. Soil here is acidic I think, but there's lime in the holes so it should balance things out a bit. Fingers crossed, maybe they'll like the extra rain.

lazy gardener Thanks man! There's a lot of cedars and evergreens in the area, so the soil is a bit acidic, but I've never properly tested it. I used mostly promix bx which has some lime in already, and I added a bit more to most of them for good measure (nothing overkill), everything seems happy so I think I got a good balance. Good luck with your effort as well!

THC123 Thanks dude Mold is an issue, and in the past I usually ended up chopping when I saw too much, so not everything finishes all the way. The weather is often all over the place here, so if I'm lucky we'll get a dry fall this year.

I checked a few plants after the storms and everything seemed fine. We've been having so much damn rain, but there's at least been sunny days in between to dry things out a bit. Looks to be finally clearing up though.

Today I was gifted this:

Not very impressive, I know. A friend found a seed growing a taproot in one of their drains of all places. They were impressed by it's determination, so they gave it a little soil and put it in a window. It's terribly spindly, and it was only in like 1 inch of soil with rocks in it. I was a bit rough trying to get it out of the yogurt cup it was in, but I re-potted the thing in some promix and buried them stem, put it in an area with light sun:

Gave it a little support, too. Hoping I can nurse this thing back to health, if it's female, great, more bud! If it's male I can keep it isolated and get a little bit of pollen so I can breed myself some seeds.

Sadly, I went back to the spot I had the little one, and it was gone without a trace. Damn animals, should have caged it.

Damn! After the little plant was rescued out of a drain pipe then stuck in crappy dirt on a window sill and still survived......Its Gone?!?! I sure hope someone grows it out and the animals didnt eat it up.
I had a BCBD Purps pollinate 1 seed in my GrandoggyPurps on a lower branch. I still cant find the dang seed! I kept every bit of the GDoggyP, so...? I still have half a jar, but I trimmed all the bud and didnt find it. Maybe someday it will pop up somewhere.
I really wanted to grow that seed out.
