No, I think people gave up on AK when the seeds changed and the top shelf still being sold is from old genetics. People complain that the bud sold at grey area is now commercial too. Sounds like the same problem with the same people.

No, I think people gave up on AK when the seeds changed and the top shelf still being sold is from old genetics. People complain that the bud sold at grey area is now commercial too. Sounds like the same problem with the same people.

your clearly really not thinking things through. the internet insures many more seeds sold. there are far more growers now than ever before. fair enough theres competition but serious seeds ak47 sells out sometimes for months at a time.
your trying to apply mathematics to something which isn't governed by mathematics. its more of a case of shitty breeding stock = shitty offspring
it doesn't matter how many numbers you grow if the strains lineage is rubbish.
on the other hand, look at Bodhi, tom hill, tga , chimera, bog etc etc.. you can find some thing special in like one or two packs. ak47 is another story- you need to grow out 4 packs to get anything remotely decent and that's not even anything special.
and unlike you I am speaking from experience of growing a fair number of packs recently. your experience is from a few years ago and you only grew two packs. I have grown double that every year for the past three years at least. so your talking nonsense. and as for ak47 being better than a kush or gsc... lmao
I don't know how recent 'recent AK47 seedstock' is but I ordered a pack 3 years ago and my good friend ordered one 2 years back (because he liked mine so much). We both found multiple keepers in our 11 packs, crowd-pleasing smoke from plants that YIELD and are easy to grow. AK47 is probably one of the best all-around plants I've ever grown as it has unique aromas, heavy yields, and a strong stone.
We may all have our own tastes as growers but at the end of the day a successful grower caters to their patient's requests and I get a lot of them for AK47.

by recent I mean this year, last year and the year before and previous to that.
a couple of years back I will agree with you 100%, strong stone, big yield, good bag appeal. very easy to grow and people like it. the taste wasn't all that but obviously its subjective..
however I willl say 2012 and 2013 stock has changed dramatically. the quality has gone way downhill.
sorry to say because it was one of the more reliable strains I grew.

hi there komodod i am a new grower and dont really no much about growing but my m8 ran a cpl of ak47 a month back 1 of trhe ak47s was amazing great taste and stone...but one of the pheno's was stinking it tasted that bad people we new didnt even want to smoke it...so there is good phenos to be found
i have some ak47 on the go now hope i dont get that bad tasting

the taste isn't great. I walked past a burning mattress once and it stunk and left a similar taste as some of the ak phenos.
anyone who got anything good out of a pack within the last year...well I envy you tbh. anything worth keeping at all is few and far between atm.

got a decent ak cut... foxtailed a bit but man this stuffs got an amazing smell of skunky fruit.. crystals galore.. wen u break this shit up in a grinder with a keif screen.. u get the most ridiculous amount of keif from a little bud... an wen u break them apart by hand the keif explodes.. great buds..

Just ordered some. Grew AK47 a few times in the past and loved the strain.

what does the current packaging look like. The only ones ive seen look like a glossy business card with a clear tube taped to the back. how old would seeds packed like that be?

That's funny, because I grew just one pack of AK-47 and got a pheno that was better than anything I've seen from Cali personally.
You do realize growing a dozen packs isn't a large enough test sample to make any kind of a conclusive analysis? You're going around as if 100 seeds makes you an expert. It's hilarious.
Where are you getting your AK-47 seeds from? Are they all from the same source?
