Got mine in May after 8 weeks. My patients renewal however took just short of 12 weeks. Peace GS

ps. how long did you think it would take?

When I applied they said less than 8 weeks. I figured they would process a dying persons application a little faster than one for back pain or arthritis... this whole systems a joke.

Ya sorry, they only read them in the order they get them in. No pre processing. Shouldn't be more than a couple weeks. I imagine they are being flooded with applications before the program ends. Good luck. Peace GS

has anyone ever tried to sue health Canada over wait times? it takes 2 weeks to get a birth cert or sin number, but 3 to 4 months to get a piece of paper confirming what your dr has already confirmed lol

Well Matt Mernaugh is on the process of trying to go after them. You might want to see how that is going for him first. Peace GS

Sorry guys know it has been posted but can't find it now. When did health Canada say they would stop accepting renewals! My license ends in nov. thanks. Thinking I should get a hold of my Doc soon and get on the paper work.

Last licenses will be September 30 according to what HC released. The program was supposed to end in March '14, but my license goes past that. Peace GS

I doubt my dr would waste his time calling some loogan from health Canada, but I'll try. They must give them special training on how to jerk people around because I really cant see anyone getting hired for a govt job that's as useless as they pretend to be. I'll call them again.... then maybe for shits and giggles I'll call my conservative mp.

I would imagine allot of people will continue to grow, and challenge the new regulations in court. Allot of people in the program are on disability and wont be able to afford to use the new system. I can't really see how making things less accessible for sick people will stand up in court. Perhaps the jig has just begun....

so what were the sick doing before the medical marijuana industry sprouted up...

no offense...but most people have had these sickness or ailments all their life...i am not disagreeing..and i think its horrible to take medicine away from sick people...BUT the current system is NOT working,.,,hence they are trying this...i would say the sick get their meds at a fair price(most do anyway) currently that is...but the average consumer still gets fucked...so there is A LOT of $$$$ being made out there....that is the issue...

and with $$$ comes crime...and a lot of shit...that is why they are trying to make it like..getting a percocet/ or oxy when you actually need it...The way it should be...

All due respect....I could get percocets any time of the week...I refuse opiates, oxy back in the day was offered...

It was a harder and took longer to get my paperwork in order for my med MJ...Even with it being my doctors suggestion...not mine..when I refused opiates.

i am not disagreeing with you..its the fucking government we are talking about here...they are always slow...and the only reason you can get oxy's legally is because you obviously need pain medication...my point is...they are trying to simplify things by making them more legitimate...we will see if that happens

Oh I get where your coming from... I just see the mailorder side of things to be crappy...

Lets say I lose my bag of meds at home (hey it's been known to happen)...I might have to wait 3 days if I didnt have a stockpile at home, or could afford one...

So that equals 3 days of pain, unless you go to a non-legitmate souce..which will dry up once those med user's with bogus scripts stop dumping on the market...MANDATORY minimums going to make people get out...I know a few already retiring..

I have no problem buying from a licensed producer as long as my disability is willing to pay for it. The reality is that unless the govt wants to pick up the tab for the cost increase over growing it yourself they have made the system much less accessible. I have whats probably the worst neurological disease out there. disability will pay for any drug out there for me except pot. Unfortunately I can't take anything that effects my liver or kidneys due to other problems. The dr recommended I smoke pot because that's really the only option left. I realise for most people this wont be an earth shattering change. But for some the changes will have an extremely negative effect.
