How many Females should I expect?

6-7" is ok for small plants, but the bigger the better as long as you have room for 'em. Are you planning on flowering in the same cabinet?

3 x 26W is ok for now, but the more light the better. If you can get some 2700K bulbs to add to the mix it will help greatly.

Have you started feeding with the Hyponex/MG? They don't need anything for now, and I would advise against feeding them this early. I also grow organically. Since you have access to all kinds of good stuff at Home Depot/nurseries there's really no need to use chems. Pick up some worm castings if you can. Otherwise the MG is better than the Hyponex. Is the Hyponex little balls? If so, don't use it.

Yeah but it came in the Potting soil already......oh boy.

No I'm going to have to switch the to a bigger cabinet for that because I suspect that there wont be enough room.

lol it should tick over in about three hours. Transplant into different soil; I recommend ProMix or anything organic that you can find. You could pick up some fancy stuff on Amazon like Roots Organic.

Have you considered a grow tent?

That's what I got MG liquid plant food and the original soil I used was an organic mix, however the soil I bought to transplant was scotts with Hyponex and from what Gelado says its no good and not to use it. So i'm going to go get some organic promix.

If your gonna go soil the soil growers forum is where to hang out great info there
BTW 50-50 is what i figure on fems as well
What foomar said is right though if those beans are from a hermed indoor crop they will be s1's
biggest problem with that is the offspring tend to do the same.

My first grow ever, I used Miracle Grow Moisture Control and fertilizer too, and my plants were WAY too green. If you do decide to use the Scott's stuff since you already have it, it might work like it did for JM as long as you don't feed more and flush it well before harvest.

I usually get 50/50 but it is just luck. Sometimes you get more females sometimes you get less females. There is some thought that a bit colder temps at germination will give more females but I haven't noticed it yet. Good luck with your grow. I am talking about standard seeds. Some people like the feminized variety especially in Europe. I guess they would be good for guerrilla grows and space limited areas, but I like the surprise of regular seeds and some people think the standard seeds have better genetics.

Like they said since its bag seed you'll probably end up with all females with some or most showing intersex traits, which is something you don't want.

Its cheaper to make your own soil than to buy these premade bags. But in a pinch there's nothing wrong with em, especially for your first grow. I used Fox Farm soils for my first time and it came out great.

Here's a beyond solid soil recipe for future reference, you'd want this mix to sit for awhile before planting any thing into it so microorganisms and microbial life begin breaking everything down. Very cheap to make.

Clackamas Coots' recipe

Base - Equal Parts:
Sphagnum Peat Moss
Pumice/Perlite/Lava Rock/Rice Hulls (whichever you can find)
Earthworm Castings or Vermicompost
-
Ammendments Per 7.5gal/1 CF:
4 cups Basalt Rock Dust
1/2 cup Kelp Meal
1/2 cup Neem Cake
1/2 cup Crab Meal

Thank you all for the advise. I just returned from walmart with organic potting soil and some
8" pots. This way I can transplant using the organic soil when the time calls. Thanks for the idea on the soil grower forum, I'm going to check it out soon. All your pics look great and are very impressive JM420 thanks for sharing'em. I'll keep you all updated along the way.

btw look into training make the most of what room you have .with that cross theres gonna be some stretch 3x4 times .plus I'm gonna guess 10-11 weeks flower time if not longer.
dont be afraid to super crop or lst .treat them like a bitch in veg and a queen in flower you will be well rewarded

Keep it simple and you'll have some fun win or loose

I'm going to move the plants to a bigger space eventually. They clearly wont fit in the closet once they get bigger and hopefully flower. So I have a second bathroom that I never use so I'm thinking of transforming it. Gotta sell the idea to the wife first though...Lol

But yeah I know I just got to have fun, but sometimes its so hard when you have money, time and energy invested. You know what I mean? But in the end as long as they grow I'll be satisfied.

Sure thing. Its from another member here on this forum. Check the organic soil section, more specifically threads on Tea's and Living Soil. Very informative stuff:ying:
