funny u say that because i (literally ) stumbled on what looks like a 1k magnetic balast & hid socket in denver a couple weeks ago.... brought it home & haven't checked it yet.....
also saw a 1kw digi in a pawn shop for like 10$ in denver a while back, (decided against it tho.)

as for ur garden...
crazy.... never seen anything like it....
