Thank you all for the suggestions. I'll either have to get very old or a lot better connected to local growers to even begin to personally explore the breadth & depth of modern cannabis, so good advice is welcome.

I think I'll start with the Rishi Kush, maybe a couple of girls in with the Satori, just to see what it's like. Once I develop a stash, I should be able to blend small batches to match the occasion, even if the Rishi lacks clout. I'm ordering up some of their feminized strains, too, so I can stay Colorado legal while exploring different effects in less time.

I'm particularly intrigued by DJShort genetics, but still balking at the price. It seems like he breeds not just for potency, but for certain qualities in the high. That's quite appealing.

Got this a little while ago when they ran out of "Ingrid" which I hope they get again soon but this is ok in the meantime.

This is an interesting topic to me. I was beginning to think I was one of only a few people left on Earth, who wanted weaker smoke, from time to time.
Dinafem's California Hash Plant fit the bill for me. It's a pure indica, but very pleasant, social (for me), and relaxing.
I am one of the lucky smokers that even after 25+ years of using, still get the occasional panic attack from smoking too much.
I never really seem to build much tolerance, despite daily use.
I'm not complaining, as I get pain relief, and the desired effect from less product. However, I can slip one toke over the line on "modern" weed, much faster than as a kid in the 80's.
The Cali hash reminds me of the Seattle indoor I grew up on.
I've got a few friends that really appreciate this particular plant as well, for the same reason.
It makes for a pleasant evening around the campfire, without feeling like I am in a one-man telethon for the seriously challenged.
Be well!

I just found this thread today, and I see that Satori was mentioned several times in here. I just thought it was worth mentioning that, while I personally LOVE Satori, and it has been one of my favorite strains I've ever grown... it can be DEVASTATING to the light tokers, so beware! I smoked my father-in-law out with a tiny bowl of it one day, lol, and he was SOOOO fucked up he had to lay down on the couch and wait it out before he could drive home. Now, I should say, the dude is 62 years old and has been smoking pot before I was even born... so he's no lightweight... he's just a light-toker, and doesn't stay high all the time.

So watch out with Satori, lol!

I would honestly recommend a blueberry variety for light-tokers. Seriously! I mean "original" blueberry varieties, and not hybrids with northern lights or anything like that.

Seems many of us enjoy the many varieties Mandala has in their offerings. Good Medicine @ a fair price...

When I take a break from smoking, the next time I smoke, whether it's high grade sensi or mid grade seeded up shwag, I always get really really high. I think it's more the tolerance level of the user more so than the weed's potency that determines how high someone will get from cannabis

Thank you. It's interesting how this thread came back out of nowhere.

I know mostly light tokers, and some heavy smokers. I set out to get some opinions of my first effort, Samsara Ultraviolet.

With the heavy tokers, the conversation goes like this after a few puffs-

We toke, some small amount of time passes-
Me- Whaddaya think?
Them- Nice Shit! Woohoo!
Me- More?
Them- Maybe later.
After 30-45 minutes or so, the conversation returns to more...

With light tokers, it's like this-

Me- Gotta watch out for this stuff, it's potent.
Them- Puff, puff, tasty!
Me- Might want to hold back a little...
Them- Tastes great! Puff, puff...
After 15 minutes or so-
Me- So, uhh, how is it?
Them- Bzzerrt! Boink! Wha...? Jesus fucking Christ am I stoned!

That's at the point where the high is just beginning to soar... and they get lost for awhile on the other side of the ceiling... with me coaxing them back to earth. More? Uhh, no...

I want something that's easier to regulate, where getting a little greedy doesn't put the unsuspecting into orbit... preferably with some warmth & sociability, some conversation & some laughs.

I do love a wild & soaring sativa high, in the right situation, but that's not every get high situation, at all...

Thanks for the recommendation. It's on the to do list. Meanwhile, some Rishi Kush, Satori & a couple of fem freebies are sprouting. I'll report when it's done...

Right on man, but heed my warning about satori from the previous page, lol. One thing I can tell you is I selected an 11-12 week pheno, while Mandala claims the strain is a 10 week strain. Maybe if I had harvested this pheno at 10 weeks, or went with another pheno altogether, it might not have been so devastating to my father in law. But I bring this up because he is probably what you are referring to as a light smoker, and one single puff of the satori laid him out.

I'll tell you one thing, I'm interested in that Dinafem hash plant in the post you quoted. I have had great experiences with Dinafem, after growing out 4 of their varieties, and they get my seal of approval.

I still likes me that one hit quit shit though. And some strains are more creeper and you really should wait at least 5 min. or so between each hit to get to that nirvana stage.

Might have been mentioned, seeded buds are
easier on the head than sensi. Not for every
grower, throwing pollen can be tricky.

But I agree with the choices, especially Mandala.

Peace.

When we where kids we would roll a whole "lid" in joints. A "Lid " being about four fingers in a zip. Sometimes the weed was high grade columbo or thai or low grade mexi shwag, and we would take huge hit's and hold the hit in forever. Now With the rocket fuel of today. When I test new meds I always take a very small hit actually about half a small hit just barely a hit usually from a small pipe and hold it in for about 2 seconds before exhale . And them I wait for about fifiteen mins to check out the quality. And of course the taste is usually a big factor of what to expect. The older I get the less I need it's actually pretty cool.

You sound a lot like me.:) Gonna try the Cali Hash and Blue Hash next time.

GDP and Maple Leaf Indica are 2 you might want to try as well. If you smoke too much, no freakout or wanting to lie down. You are just really high.

Thanks, Yesum.
Keep a sharp eye on any of the blueberry crosses from Dinafem. I have grown both the Blue Hash, and Blue Widow from them, and they were both amazing smoke.
The problem comes from pollen sacks appearing 5-6 weeks in. The Blue Widow was really bad (5 or 6 seeds in every 1/8th). The Blue Hash was a little more forgiving, but still seeded itself.
I grew both strains in Black Gold Cocoblend, and then in DWC/drip. Same results in either medium.
I wonder if the Blueberry part of the strain is a little unstable?
Zero beans in the pure Cali Hash I grew...
Best of luck!

Diesel ryder or New york city Diesel.

Got some NYC Diesel. Haven't tried it yet but will do so soon. This NYC though has a nice aroma, the thc count whether real or not has been a pretty good gauge from this place so I reckon it's going to be a little too strong for daytime but a good late afternoon. That's my prediction, we'll see. Looks good though don't it?
