Does indica/sativa strain matter, with trichome stage?

I was wondering, if thc degrades into cbd, and CDB is a couch lock high, then does the strain matter if you have almost total control over the high by what stage your picking the trichomes in?

Second thing, is trichome ripening directly related to living plant, or will it begin to ripen further after plant is cut down, kind of how a rose will continue to bloom after its picked.... Im wondering since drying can take 5-10 days if trichomes will continue to mature after the plant is cut down.

It doesn't. It degrades to cbn... which causes the couchlock???

Ripening happens on the plant. Curing happens when held at a slightly humid level for a period of time. :) Trichomes won't change after chopping, not so's I've ever noticed anyway.

Stay Safe! :blowbubbles:

I'm obviously no expert, but I think that ripening in cannabis is a function of living plants. As life processes cease after cutting, so will ripening.

I also think that the complex chemistry & wide variety of effects from different strains rules out the idea that ripeness alone can determine the nature of the high. Yes, it can have very noticeable effect which varies from one strain to another, but I doubt that Malawi, for example, will ever be couchlock weed even at advanced ripeness... Or that Herijuana will provide electric trippiness even when picked early...

If you want an uppity sativa high,go with a sativa or heavily sativa leaning hybrid.

If you want a narcotic (couchlock) high then go with an indica or heavily indica leaning hybrid.

Clear trichomes = immature trichomes
Cloudy/Milky trichomes = Mature trichomes
Amber trichomes = Degradinng/degraded thc

Pick when trich's are clear and you'll be dissapointed cause you won't get very high.

Pick when a lot are amber and you won't be so pleased with the high.

Pick when they are mostly all cloudy/milky and you got yourself some potent marijuana.

The whole clear/amber for different high crap is just that..CRAP!

If you take a haze and let it go until most trich's are amber, you will NOT get a couchlock stone.

If you take a legit kush or afghani and pick while majority of trich's are clear, you will NOT get an uppity sativa high.
