My story and a drug-test dilemma

For privacy purposes you can know me as Rick.

So I live in the low country in the beautiful state of South Carolina. I got an interview to work as an intern for an engineering firm. short story long I impressed them and they sent me an offer to work for them as a 'limited employee' meaning I don't get benefits or anything like that in early May. I started working a week later.

Now that you have a little background story it's time for my so called dilemma. When i got the offer it didn't say anything about drug-testing their employees so I didn't stop smoking, well the first day of work came and and they gave me paperwork to fill w2, proof that I can work in the US, and the dreaded employee handbook. When I opened the hand book and went to the table of contents I found a entry that said "drug free work place" I started to get nervous. I went to the page and it read something like this "all applicants are to give consent to per-employment drug testing" it also talks about drug testing if they have a reasonable belief. Well after I signed the employee hand book and all my paper work I was waiting for the HR to give me a date to get drug tested... but nothing! she explained the employee hand book and didn't even touch on the drug testing part of it. So I have stayed clean for 2 weeks waiting for them to tell me that I need to be drug tested... I'm about to enter my 3rd week and after my 21st birthday i'm dying to spark one up. what are your opinions based on experiences? they haven't mention anything about drug-testing and I'm hired even-though I didn't go through this so called per-employment drug test..

p.s. this is a small company compromised of no more than 20 employees.

^^^ that's the ticket right there. I carry 2 bottles in my glove box at all times. If its a DOD type job, I will suggest you be gery careful. You get caught on a DOD piss test, its permanently filed and you lose your security clearance for life. Not something to screw around with.

Stay with it brother. You've lasted two weeks, don't jeopardise a valuable job opportunity just for a spliff!
My pal worked as a ganger on the railways here in the UK and he was tested in his 3rd week. A lot of people will tell you to take this pill or that - or to do the piss in a bottle trick. However, its not as easy as you think. They also test the temp of your piss, so you'd have to have it strapped to the inside of your thigh. (Colostomy bags work great, they've even got a tube!)
All in all, I reckon the best way is to abstain! Man-up! Lol

Thanks man I feel like what you just wrote gave me the motivation to stay clean. It's just hard when you get bored with nothing to do & all your friends still smoke.

Based on similar experiences but not trying to give any ideas because I agree with Iffy your best bet is to stay clean of course but I have done many different things. You could just smoke once a week and just drink plenty of water try to eat healthy and try to sweat as much as possible...Or just get someone elses urine or synthetic and put it in a good sealed container so you dont get piss on yourself and put it under your arm pit or to your thigh for the temp.

Hope this helps but all in all alot of jobs say this same thing most rarely drug test you unless its a big company but hey you never know!

It's really easy to cheat, and once you learn how you'll never be discriminated against again.

The easiest way to keep a bottle of piss warm is to wear tight underwear and put it under your balls. I kind of wrap my nutsack around the bottle, and then hold it against my gooch with my underwear. I have really big balls though, so YMMV.

Do a practice run to verify it will work if you're nervous. Take room temp water, and wrap it in your ballsack. Let it acclimate, then measure the temp. If it's above 90F after getting up to temp, you're golden.

Tell them to stick their piss test up their arse. This is supposed to be a free country and I refuse to play their games. I always was stuck with hard work that most people didn't want, but I never gave em a piss test. Now, I'm all screwed up and on disability from bad back and other defective parts but I never gave in to the a$$ holes that think they own their employes.
