Cool tube fan?

Vertical donut, 42 (ish)" Vert SCROG, 1K hung bulb.

Amient temp 67F,, canopy temp 86.

Too warm,, well definably for the hot summer. Switching to a cool tube (I know,, wish I could avoid it).

Gonna hook up to a 440 CFM exhaust fan,, with power intake @ 44o CFM also. Both on speed controllers.

Okay,, Question...
How should I know if the fan is on enough to be right?
Know it sounds stupid,, but wide open they're noisy.

Is the temp inside the tube & duct (aluminum / plastic flex) of concern or just adjust for room temp.

Never ran a cool tube before so please excuse my stupidity on this one. :thank you:

cool tubes or sealed hoods i use a overpowered vortex on a speed controller and push the air through only

putting fans to such air through the hoods can draw smell from the room out the exhaust and also the heat can fuck up impellers especially in cheaper fans

Thank you very,, very much! :thank you:

I've always run bare bulb. Now upped to 1K Summer will be hell in the grow if I don't act now.

As usual,, I tend to over think things. My biggest concern (at this point) is inside the tube temps so hot that I'll damage wiring, melt the plastic duct work, etc. Never considered the impeller.

You got me started down the right track. Thank you very much.

PS, Not new to growing, been watching the vertical forum here for about a year or so. Finally almost done converting my old coal bin in the cellar for this. Bulb cooling is my last hurtle (yeah, right :whistling: ).

I'll try and show what I've done with the info learned about it from here, IC Mag once it's up and running.

Generally, Its a 5 X 7 converted Coal bin with 7 ft. ceiling. I even included a homemade 48" Lazy Suzan to make reaching the back easier. Mylar outside light curtain on a 54" diameter ring with a 32" diameter inside screen to grow against. 8 station flower rm, 2 in / 2 out every 3 weeks perpetual is the target.
Presently it's full of assorted Photos & Autos with 3 flowering in the upstairs closet. The goal is to have all up and running as intended on June 1st (had to pick a target date for planning & scheduling). I think I'll be pretty close.
Basicly it's a medical grow. Primarily for extracts. I have a "12 flowering plant" limit to hold to to comply with my state's card program. I have the card because of being mobily challenged so it's got to be easy to run and simple to maintain.

With the info I gleamed from all you good folks,, I think I'm pretty close to intent.

The more I'm running it the more excited I'm getting.

Thanks to everyone I stole ideas from,,, and those also that I learned screw-up from too. You saved me a lot of grief from making the same mistakes. :thank you: :dance013: :tiphat:

Def agree. Pulling through a carbon filter while pushing thru the hood or cool tube gives excellent odor control & decent temps when properly executed. It's also easier on the equipment. Beware of too much fan for the filter...
