https://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=262825I'm new to the site so i posted some pics recently in the wrong place i guess. I did however get some good feedback from one guy saying it looks like heat stress. Temp fluctuates between 73 and 80 depending on the weather. Seattle; so usually only gets warmer when there's no overcast. pics are a couple days apart and its been 74 75 in here the whole time and the plant looks worse. The first 2 are today the last was 2 days ago. The link is of my old thread. Just would like some feedback as i am very new to this. Thank you

Yup, i would say heat stress, they tend to curl leaves up when the enviroment gets warmer than optimal levels

Agree Sandnut. How close is your light to the tops (canopy ) ? If to close the canopy will be pretty hot. Put your hand under the light where the canopy is. Well the rest is obvious !

Fan blowing between the canopy and light also helps reduce radiant heat.

Just a thought, see what others say.

Temp seems to be under what some say is normal for veg. Around 75 usually. One day it got up to 82 a few weeks ago, but hasnt hit 80 since. 1000w hps about 2 feet from canopy. I moved the plants around and where that sick lookingone was no other plant has problems there but the one is stilp having issues. Im getting more feedback on my other thread if any1 wants to check it out and see what people have been telling me. Think we r getting close slowly but surely its just hard for meto answer some of their questions cus im not sure how toread my pen thanks everyone for your help

its the lumens how powerful the heat is, heat cn cause curling don't get me wrong... the curls tryto protect the plant from loosing more moisture than it can provide the leaf, heat meaning lumens, how strong and how close are your lights? also there is another problem that may be arising. what ppms of nutrients are you giving them and how often? lower leavesare curling much more than the tops..... newer growth are much more subseptiable to higher lumen damage because of it's chlorphyll growth not fully protecting the leaf. lower leaves are more damaged, so I think it's a mixture of too high nutrients and high lumens being too close to the plant.

1000w hps. 2ft from plants. Just got a pen the other day and adjusted from around 1300 to 940ppm. Ph was also off at 6.5, moved it back to 5.8.

Not heat stress @ those temps and distance from light. In the absence of pests, I would say your PH and PPMs were the problem. I would lower PPMS even further, to max of 800 PPMs for small plants. K.I.S.S. method (see K.I.S.S. thread) Also, I would take one plant and flush it good with RO water, and see if it perks up. I'm guessing it will. 3 gallons of water per gallon of pot. It should perk up overnight. If it does, you have your answer. When in doubt, flush. Can't hurt. Can only help.

Temp tip

Temp tip

Here is a llitle tip your uncle "old dude". I did not check out pic's but if it is heat related just thought I would give a little tip to people I learned long ago about the true temp of canopy. I was going to do a whole diagram thing but it's easy enough just to explain. A lot of people use those inexpensive heat temp probes with the wire back to the small box the has the digital reading (I have a wireless camera looking at the digital readout set up to my bedroom flat screen so I can check it out at any time )as well,I also have a shielded remote unit (That I find is not as reliable as the one with the probe at the end of the wire in the same room) ...But here is the important part....Take a toilet paper cardboard tube cut it in half .Then cut a slit halfway length wise down the tube for the "probe" that is at the end of wire. Place the probe inside the tube and hang or place the tube on a stand at canopy height this will give you a more acurate reading of the "ambient temperature" at the top of the canopy. While allowing air to flow through without the direct heat from the light to affect a false reading because of the exposed probe to direct light. Trust me.
