Butane Honey Oil / Budder wax problems

Hello,

I've been attempting to do my own butane honey oil extraction, and have been relatively successful. Relatively meaning, I've got a smokeable product, but I'm trying to figure out how to get it to the next level.

How does one go about getting their oily sticky honey oil product, to the waxy drier budder?

I've read lots, and it seems whipping it is the way to go, but I whip and whip and whip, and the results come out the same when left in room temperature it returns to its oily state.

I've smoked tons of premium budder, and it stays stable in room temperature, not melting into an oily substance, but stays relatively dry and cakey.

I've included some pictures for reference:

Here is a picture of the oil being purged, still has a nice tan color to it:

Here is a picture after the oil has been fully purged:

I've used a couple different methods to purge. The method prior to these pictures, I used a hot plate and when bubbles would form on the top, would use a butane torch to pop them. I've realized that I probably "burned" or "cooked" some of my previous runs, making it darker colored and lose the nice smell.

This time after the initial purge, I placed this in hot water and tried to control the temperature, preventing it from getting too hot. I finished the purge by placing it into a toaster oven at around 180 (the lowest setting) to make sure I get all the final bubbles out.

I've tried whipping it, placing in the freezer, re-whipping it, and many varieties of this with similar results.

I'd preferably like to get a product that looks something like this instead:

I took that picture in person, and my buddy who made that stuff, won't really tell me exactly how he does it (fucked up I know).

How exactly does one go about getting budder that looks like this? I understand the color probably has more to do with the color of the trichomes on the plant than anything, but then how to get that waxy, dry consistency to it as opposed to this oily, stickier feel to it.

Thanks in advanced for any help!

If you want GOOD wax, you will need a vacuum chamber. Leave it in a vacuum chamber, under heat and vacuum, it will turn to wax eventually. A lot of guys have the opposite problem, they go for sap/shatter but a wrong variable (usually temp/time related) it ends up wax'ing up under vacuum.

After properly purging sap/shatter (in a vacuum chamber) I find the oil is too stable to be heated to a liquid and whipped, it needs extended time in the chamber to wax/honeycomb up. That link will show you.

Why you going for wax? Stable shatter is as easy to handle, easier to dab, and retains smell/taste longer.

Budder is made by whipping the oil in a shallow dish, over low heat.

The light color suggests that it is young material and Sativa dominant.
