400w Hash Plant run. LST, Hand Water.

Hey folks, this will be the first complete grow run I post on icmag.

Recently I was gifted 10 bag seeds from some fire Hash Plant. I do not know the origin of the nugget but I do know it's bomb. I germinated them in wet napkins(didn't have paper towel at the time), and all of them quickly sprouted taproots.

I then planted the germinated seeds inside red solo cups prepared with Canna brand coco coir watered with tap water and rhizotonic at 300ppm, 6ph.

The grow space is a 4x4x7 tent inside my bedroom. I know this sounds like overkill for the 400 hps I'm currently running. My plan is to do a selection run with these 10 seeds under the 400 while I save money to run the next generation of keepers under a 2x600w cooltube setup w/ co2 supplementation.

I plan on using cns17, liquid karma and rhizotonic for veg and pbp soil bloom, hammerhead and liquid karma for flower.

I can't give too many climate details yet because I'm still waiting for the last of my gear to come in, and temperate and rh monitors are among that.

Anyway, here's a couple pics to start. Nothing too exciting yet!

What's up guys, quick update just to tell you how things are going.

Thermometer with RH came in. Things are on the hot and dry side right now especially for early veg. 80F and sometimes as low as 28% RH in the daytime has me concerned. Seedlings aren't growing incredibly fast but aren't showing signs of extreme stress yet. Minor leaf cupping. Hopefully this is an afghani hashplant that can handle hot and dry days!

Not going to alter much for now, but I will go out and buy a small humidifier to use inside my tent and see if it is an improvement. My first 600w ballast, cooltube, mh+hps bulbs, and inline fan will all be here by the end of the week. I have a feeling that will put an end to my temp/humidity issues. Right now just lowering ppm while they suck up mostly water.

Hey people, just posting a quick shot of one of the girls in veg. I'm pretty sure it's a girl at least. Growth is so uniform along all 10 that I'm fairly confident this was an accidental backcross.

Anyway, here (s)he is!

@Mantra - Thanks!

I'll snap some more shots after I tie them down. So far all 10 plants are healthy, now with only one showing some nute defs (before 3 were beginning to pale). They're almost ready for their first (probably only) training! Basically as soon as these babies are big enough to take a few clones from I'll get my cloner loaded and tagged up and flip em! Yay selection runs!

Light and fan and humidifier all still on their way. Taking forever to get the last of my gear! But I did get my silica and probiotics in!

Right now day temp maxes at 80, RH goes down to 30%. Night temp is 70, RH 40%

Right now mixing cns17 grow at 450ppm, then aquashield, silica blast and rhizotonic at 150 for 600ppm total feed. They love it! Looks like I could even increase my base, but I'll give it another few days before I go overboard.

Hey people, just wanted to show a quick shot of the plants. Last night was the first night I let them have 12 hours of darkness.

I think one plant (the center plant in the top left) might have a zinc deficiency. Has anyone seen this come up using soft tap water and CNS feed? Anyway I am not too stressed about it, I'll probably go to gnc and get some zinc oxide and try flushing that plant with a weak base and added zinc. If it works great! If not, the plant isn't extremely stressed so I will have time to try to make other corrections.

Anyway here's the pic! It's kind of far away and blurry-- I still haven't been able to be home just before lights on to snap a good shot.

Also I should mention that I decided instead of tying them to just top them. I'll probably flower them out in those cups and once they're sexed transplant the females into 1.5g pots ^_^

Hello everyone. Day 14 of 12/12 and I have some shots for you. All plants were sexed for 9 female one male! Not a bad ratio. Here's a couple shots of the girls and also root porn from the male that I pulled :)

:blowbubbles:

what up guys, some more pictures for you detailing the latest changes in my tent. Installed the 600w cooltube and the inline fan. So much brighter and a nicer more white spectrum of light. Plants love it. Yield will be low because they stretched soooo much under my crap 400 security light, but those times are over! Good things on the way! Getting another 2x4 veg tent, some LED fixtures, and a cloner tray this week! :woohoo:

Temps now max out at 80F, humidity staying right at 50% at all times. If it starts to climb I will invest in a dehumidifier.

It was pretty funny-- I forgot to get duct collars at home depot (doh!) and didn't feel like walking all the way back (really, really long walk). So of course the 6"->4" reducer I was trying to strap onto the fan with duct tape kept falling off. Becoming frustrated, I decided instead to just stick a shitload of duct tape on the 6" duct, cut aforementioned tape in several places perpindicular to the end of the duct and fold them back, then just stick the duct on. Instant suction! So now the cooltube is installed to the fan, with the other end of the tube drawing air from the tent itself. There is an exhaust on the floor of the tent that allows air to exchange. Perhaps in the future when I can afford to add CO2 supplementation, the cooltube will draw air from outside the tent.

No can filter yet! We'll see if that becomes a problem in the coming weeks.. It would be a good problem to have!

Anyway, here's shots.

day 36 of 12/12

day 36 of 12/12

@Ny2CaFuse - Not as far as I can remember! Although moms are my thing.. :p

I went away for a long weekend last week and my roommate didn't water them as I requested! They were unhappy when I came back-- dried out and slightly droopy and yellow. I think they'll be ok though.

Here's shots from today, day 36 of 12/12. They're starting to move along after taking veeeeery long to show sex!

I read that as 'hope you have a jungle problem soon'. Heh. You never know what to expect with autocorrect these days.

Interesting cool tube setup. If heat isn't an issue, I guess it helps add with air exchange in the tent too. Here, we would burn stuff if not running the cool tube entirely insulated from the tent.

Day 44 of 12/12

Day 44 of 12/12

Hello everybody. Ladies are coming along just fine. Showing calcium defs and leaf yellowing, but I'm not worried that it will be a big problem. As long as the crops don't fail and I get some nice smoke, which it looks to be turning out to be, then I'll be happy. I ended up ditching the cloning and selection because I now intend to run a new strain(Critical Hog from TH Seeds) starting in August.

@Mantra - Yes, air exchanges are exactly what I'm hoping to get by leaving the cooltube open at one end. I've got the max temp down to 84, and RH stays at 50% so I think I'll keep it this way until I can afford a regulator and co2 tank rental. You know once I got that co2 I'll be sealing up that cooltube and dropping it right in on my ladies haha.
