I have to commend you bro, it takes mad strength to go through shit like this. I know for sure you are a stand up dude. This disease has a way of cultivating loneliness in its victims. Knowing your are there is definitely making life more comfortable for her.

We have the Mrs. and yourself in our thoughts.

Positive strength vibes to you both. It made me laugh and cry, when you said she was "bitching at you".......we women, will do that even if we are feeling weak....gotta keep you guys in line!!!!! Your strength is truly an inspiration to me. I wish i could do something to ease your wife's suffering, but I know you have her covered, in every way. Thank you for sharing with us.....we are all here, with you both. Praying for you both....loving you both.

Okay, this was a hard, hard week. Mrs. MPD did three courses of chemo. The first course was Carbaplatin and Etoposide and then the second and third courses were just Etoposide. The doctors said the cancer had spread to her liver - it was confirmed as Small Cell Lung Cancer - and to her lymph nodes, but they expected the chemo would dramatically shrink the tumors and possibly put them into long-term remission (for God knows how long!). They gave her a smorgasbord of anti-nausea drugs and those have helped keep the nausea more or less in check.

Right now I have her resting and will be looking in on her again in a few minutes. She has required nearly constant care for the past week and I am so grateful to The Deity that I am able to bear up and take care of my girl.

Thank you all again for all of your kind words, your interest in her well-being and love.

Warmly,
MPD

I truely hope the chemo can start slowing the cells down if not reversing them a little. MPD you REALLY have to make it a point to take care of yourself also. Alot of care givers are so busy taking care of someone else that they neglect their own health. Eat well and rest so you can take care of your beautiful girl. Peace to both.

You are an incredible rock for her.

I know you are in the right mindset to really be what and who she needs.

Love to you both.

Sending love both of your way.. I can relate. I wanted so much to take the burden of pain away from my mother when she was experiencing the same ( liver bone lung). I was her caregiver, but was truly blessed to get to care for her in her final month. Sending her to a home would not have set my soul at ease. In that last month I spent with her we bonded on a level that we had never experienced before. I sincerely wish you the best through this journey, and I know you are doing everything in your power to comfort her through this most difficult time..

Yes, I am incredibly blessed to be able to take care of her. She and I were fussy today, but we are getting there. She is worried I am going to stroke out and I am worried she is going to crash. What ya' gonna' do?

Man Oh Man come on chemo.
I watched my brother/best friend come back from lymphoma large cell T negitive Stage 4. He even had it in his bones. Our prayers my friend. Fingers crossed.... Keep her eating as much as possible. My brother smoked everyday. Even the day after his stem cell transplant he was in the bathroom standing on top the toilet and blowing the smoke outta the fan crazy son of a B. I still feel to this day the herb saved his life helping him through the whole thing.

Wow! It was a hard weekend. We went to the hospital Friday night because Marilynn looked like she was heading into congestive heart failure. I was really scared for her, but I didn't show a fucking thing. Just the love and the positive vibes. Being there in the moment with her. They finally admitted her at 5:00 in the morning on Saturday. Bad news, the cancer has moved into a vein that empties into her gut and it was partially blocking the vein. So they had a look and found gallstones and there was a lot of consternation over whether or not they should go ahead and go for surgery as she was in some pain. They decided this morning against that. She might come home today, but I doubt it. They have pressure cuffs on her legs to prevent blood clots so I think my little girl is still really sick. She hasn't had a bowel movement for 9 days and that is a real big concern. We will have to see. I'm on my way now back to the hospital. I'm going to see what I can do to help.

Talk to you soon. You all have been just wonderful and I am sure I don't deserve the love and support you have shown, but don't think for even a second that I am not appreciative of it all.

Namaste.

Amen.

Well for what it's worth, the leg cuff things by themselves don't necessarily mean anything is wrong...it seems to be standard procedure in hospitals now of days.

Good luck to you and your wife!
