Hey I tried to weed through the cmh forum but prob just easier to ask you. What type of ballast is needed to run the Philips 860 ie 1000 watt hps or mh etc.

The bulb will fire with a 1000 watt magnetic though the spectrum will not be the same as the one shown by DNA because they have an electronic ballast powering the bulb. There ballast will be out very soon.

It would be intresting to see some spectral data comparing their bulb/ballast to their bulb and a standard mag/other digi.

That is something I want to see as well. We will know soon enough. There ballast will be here in the next week or so. I dont have a spectrometer but I will test the Par with my quantum. Ill see if he has the actual spectral data.

Right now I'm using a SLS Hardcore 1000w switchable on HPS to run the 860's.

subbed!!...and I agree with you about the DNA guys. I met them out in Denver and I saw the spectrum from a spectrometer..right in front of my face. I was amazed, so I def can't wait to see this play out.

My boy is using it kind of however he pleases. He told me his ppm's are at like 2200 or something crazy like that. Everything looks good though.

Yea I try to take the pics with the Method Sevens most of the time.
