My little forrest of AK-47s....hopefully :0)

Javadog

Thank you both for the good word.

Hello all,

I scoped the Somangos and it was their time. The took nine weeks from
the flip to 12/12, after only one week of Veg.

Recall that this is six budsicles and their mother plant. The remaining 26 AK-47
budsicles and their mother are finishing in the tent.

I took the three best SOG elements out first, from along the side away
from the mothers, the three amigos:

The one on the left was just spectacular, and is in many photos in
a post that will follow.

The harvest:

I will end this post with two photos of the Somango Mother. It is crazy how just
having the one light developed this plant:

I will post a last few random bits separately.

Take care,

JD

Last post for Crop #2 Harvest, stage #1.

A few shots of other Somangos:

I was very proud to see that some of the plants still have leaves
from their mother. This says that these plants were never
unhappy during the grow. Note the cut edges:

Lastly for now, here are the AKs. I sat the AK mother over on
her side. This allowed me to to apply the two Kessils directly
to the SOG's canopy:

.. Great looking crop there.. Have u noticed any difference from having led side lighting? I though of trying this, once I get my other room set up.yummmy yummmy:dance013:

Hey Stunky,

I figure that they cannot hurt.

There is a great deal of angst involved in the issue: will added blue light induce extra frostiness?

It seemed to me that there was a lot of logic in the idea that the purpose of the crystals
is, in part, to protect the plant from the Sun's harmful rays. It is very well known that
pot plants are exceptionally easy to see from the air, and this might explain why.

If you have the right optical filter, then you could practically automate (think drones :^/)
the pin-pointing of outdoor crops.

Anyhoo, like I said, they add more lumens, and are designed for the bloom phase.
Both Kessils have a red component, though the magenta one has more.

I check the trichs, a couple times a day, but they are still largely clear. Many are cloudy,
but practically none are amber.

Take care,

JD

Agreed . More lumens are better.. My friend use to run a hps and MH in bloom. I just run a hps.. Same nutes same strain same DWC.. The taste of his would be sweeter , and he would hardly flush.. All I could figure was the color of light making the plant making different sugars ..
Those girls will darken up . Just time. Although I have a plant I've never seen go amber. Even after 80 something days. Maybe it needs more time ,but the buds look done. I wait all I can, but usually around this time I have new plants needing to go into bloom room.

Note: These were simply the plants nearest the door. I only took
photos of the first few.

P.S. Please feel free to poke in on my Crop #3 thread. The clones
are rooting in the tray. ...and with Crop #2 out of the tent, I can
do the re-working of the ducting and fan.

Looks good man..

Ahhh... i remember my AK-47 grow.... wish i could get her back...

I've always to try Somango, but was reluctant to buy the seeds because of their reported low yields.... hmm...

J

Javadog

Thank you for stopping in. The Somango is indeed a very tasty smoke.

The yield was less than the AKs but there were a few that did pretty well.

Take care,

JD

Beautiful harvest Javadog! The AK47 will be some great smoke. You next grow looks killer man! The Somango was beautiful before harvest. Nice.

J

Javadog

Thanks Bros.

The Somango is almost gone. :0) Delicious!

The AK continues to improve in the jars.

TBH, I think that I might have blown some of its stink off
the AK, but have adapted my drying scheme to prevent
this in the future. Mind you it is *very* sticky and strong.
I might just be tasting the difference between the breeds.

I like the stink...LOL...so am growing two OGs, PurpleBerry,
and Blue Cheese for Crop #3.

I changed soils for Crop #3 and am finding that the growth
of Crop #3 is trailing Crop #2 to some extent.

Not to worry, as I am getting big buds of some amazing breeds.

...also I am thinking carefully about flowering my mothers for
Crop #4 as I want to try a larger Veg period and some training.
