Hey guys here's my humble grow! Problem is that it s gettin a little to hot plants are stressin! in the high 70s reachin for 80s and only have the mh 50%i have a 600 watt 3x3x6 tent 240 cm intake and a 400 cm output fan aswell as a carbon scrubber.i would post pics but dunno how to do it of my moms ipad or in this site lol I have it setup like this scrubber->like 3 r 4 ft of duct->cool tube->like 4 ft of duct again->400cfm fan out I wanted u guys opinions wat to do to make cooler?:peacock: reason I have so much duct is cuz plants are small it has to hang low obviously.

I was thinking I'm gonna get another 240 cfm and put i on one end of the tube dunno wich one yet?and that's only like 30$ so I think I'm doin that fer ,but was also thinking of gettin a window ac unit and just sticking it in there for when I have to run the hps 100 %

Usually a single 600 watt lamp should only raise the temps about 4 or 5 degrees above ambient, or less if you are pulling in colder air than the room the tent is in. What are your ambient temps?

If you have enough negative pressure (with your stronger fan pulling air out) you shouldn't need the intake fan. The intake needs to be a larger surface area than the exhaust. If you only have one duct in, and one duct out, that could be causing high temps. For example if your exhaust is 6" duct, then use two 6" ducts for intake. 400 cfm should be plenty for one light in one tent, as long as your filter isn't too big.

Some people duct the light and the tent separately, so that the light has its own circuit of air-cooling, separate from the tent air.

Are the plants showing signs of heat stress? High 70's aren't a problem, but above mid 80's the plants will suffer.

I have noticed that tents allow the light to be a little higher than in a more open space, since the light is being focused on such a confined area, adding intensity that otherwise would not be reflected back onto the plants, so mind that.

Enjoy the herb!

like kt said, ditch the input fan(s) and intake should be 2x the size of the exhaust, passive, no fan 'inputs'. . the exhaust fan, is it a cetrifugal? you mention $30 for another fan, youre not using axial fans (computer fan) are you or duct booster? they will not move enough air particularly thru the ducting. not sure what you mean by "reason I have so much duct is cuz plants are small it has to hang low obviously." plant size and ducting???? dont get it. window ac is a good addition.

filter>fan>lights>out. Suck air through the filter from the outside, so you use the pre-filter first. 70 to 85 degrees and 40-60% humidity is the ideal environment for growing, so its not too hot. Make the intake area passive and 2x the cfm's of the outlet and shorten up those ducts. If the plants are too low, place them on a stand or something. Your problem seems to be your ducting setup. Every time you make a 90 degree bend in the duct you lose something like half the cfm's being moved, making your fan work overtime and letting smells escape because you're not pushing the cfm's you THINK you are and allowing positive pressure to force smells out, instead of negative pressure forcing odor molecules through the filter. 2 90 degree bends in 8 feet of ducting with a 400 cfm fan and a scrubber is probably moving less than 100 cfm and working the daylights out of your fan. You should be able to run a 600 on full power with a 400 cfm fan and AC hood, plus do odor control with no problem, in fact, you'd probably need to turn the fan down some so you don't have more than one air change every 5 minutes. The way you have it set up, you are not only creating a ton of resistance in the duct, but exhausting the hot air through the fan which is not good for the life of the fan. Please, for the love of God, do not post pictures of growing marijuana from your mothers Ipad unless you mom is a straight stoner, you are completely safe in a legal state, and she is waiting on the bud you plan to grow as badly as you are. C'mon son, think....
