iGROW Induction Lighting

Hey Folks,

I'll be taking down 2 x 400W Lumatek's with Sunleaves Arctic Sun Reflectors one with a Hortilux and one with a Lumatek bulb. (Don't tell Hortilux but I think the Lumatek is better) The space is a 4x4 and I had been running a 400W per 2x2 tray. Top Feed Drip through coco and I've been using Cyco for about 8 months. The three trays are timed out approximately 3 weeks a part and vegging is done in another space.

Check my album to see what I've been doing. The garden pictured will be coming down and weighed as comparison weight to what the iGROW will eventually produce.

I'll be back in a couple days to add some more pics after the harvest and renovation.

just finished testing the induction light.I could get he same results with a 4' 8bulb t5 sadly. However the plant leaf health is top notch under the induction light.

Garbage. Seriously, straight rip off material.

But then I've never liked the taste of spam.

I love the 2 iBeam Induction Lights I have. I think they're right in between T5's & HPS as far as quality of light goes. Can't argue with happy plants...

iGROW is hung

Day two with the iGROW. Much cooler so far. I hope it has enough intensity. The lumen meter reads over 10k lumens at 6" off the glass of the Sunleaves arctic sun. iGROW has about 3k Lumens at 6" off the tube. But It's about the color coming from the lamp!!! I've posted some new pics in the album. The plants on the left spent 5 weeks under a Hortilux 400HPS and the ones on the Right are 3 weeks along after starting under HPS. Here we go!

I was gone for a week and glad to see things were just fine. Check out the latest album for picture up dates of week one of iGROW/ week 3 of flower.

the plants in the back corner are week one iGROW and week 7 flower. They missed some hydration over the week. They only had a 3.5g res and were drinking at least 1 g a day.

The plants that received 5 weeks of harvest were just cut down. The previous harvest is now in jars and almost ready for weighing. That will be in my next post.

Over the past couple of weeks not much seemed to happen, like it should be for such late stages of flowering. Temps had been pretty low with the lights on (like 73-75F with RH of 50-58%). The sentinel was turning the exhaust fan on for Humidity more frequently than the temperature would be too high. In conversation with another iGROW individual, he suggested heating the space. Primarily due to Induction lights, specifically, will dim if a fan is blowing on the bulb. So, if the space is heated it would replace the retained heat typically generated by an HPS bulb and make the iGROW BRIGHTER!

My conclusion, by removing 400W of heat per day, the space's retained heat was much lower, creating a 20+ deg temp swing from day to night. The plants are/were too cold to transpire. Time for a heater.

The last garden to come out of the dual 400W HPS weighed in at a dry 186g. So, that is .465g/W. Not stellar but I'm happy.

The garden that went under the iGROW at week 5 was replaced with a garden that will go all the way through flowering under iGROW.

Check out the latest pictures.

As for learning over the past week. A small space heater was added to help maintain temperatures. The Sentinel is reading a low of 74 F and high of 84 F. The humidity is also staying between 42% RH and 46%RH. It may be too late for the garden that is under the iGROW at week 7 but future gardens should benefit greatly from the space heater.

It appears that the basic's won out again! Correcting the other environmental conditions will benefit transpiration. Not having the dual 400W HPS lights and the heat they generated need to be replaced for the plants. Otherwise the conditions were not favorable for massive growth.

That all being said, the harvest just taken down only needs to weigh in at 98g to have the same Gram/Watt ratio. It won't be that much but the second one will!

I've posted some pics of week 5 of this iGROW adventure. There are some pics close up on week 3 growth directly from under the igrow. You can see the plants growing very close up to the bulbs with out any burns. The light was raised after the pictures were taken. I'm waiting on the dry weight of the last garden that came down.

I need to get my timing back, so I am holding off on the next garden to get back on 3 week cycles. The next garden will go under the iGROW as well. Now after 5 weeks it looks like I'm going to replace the last 400W with a 200W iGROW bloom. Come to me summer time savings!

Hey all, I am wondering if anyone out there is using igrow induction lights? I recently purchased one of each spectrum lamp they offer and I am experiencing some really strange things. I generally veg under a hortilux blue 600 and crush it all over the place. Everytime I put plants under this induction light they start to look all kinds of deficient. They are genetics I know like the back of my hand and I know they are getting what they need note wise and climate wise. The only variable is the lamp. When I take these sad looking plants and put them back under the horty blue they look like champs again within a few days? if anyone is experiencing similar results and has found any potential solutions I would love to hear them.. Thanks much, Anon

it may be similar to led as in the plants are not under intense conditions related to hid , may be your deficiencies are due to over feeding , i would guess the energy demands from the plants are lower
