Colorado question

T

What is the current legal status in Colorado? Is it legal to grow and smoke, but still illegal to purchase?

Thinking about a ski trip in near future.

Thanks

talking recreational here....its "the year of the magical ounce" here in Colorado and still illegal to purchase from a store (or an individual)....but adults 21+ can be in possession of an ounce in public

adults 21+ can also grow up to 6 plants with 3 in flowering in an enclosed and locked space. thus the "magical ounce" because unless you grew it yourself where did the weed magically appear from?

BTW, Arapahoe basin ski area will probably be open for the rest of May, but most all the ski areas are closed for the season.

Be safe, have fun!

Hi: They are still screwing around trying to figure out regulations for retail establishments and the legislative session ends on Wednesday. They say proposals must be entered by today (Monday) to get any work on them. Like as stated above 1 oz. is the magic number. Any person 21 or over can gift another person 21 or over an oz. of weed. There are a lot of untested rules about growing in an enclosed space (what is that?). Anyway to answer your ski question most of the ski areas are quite relaxed and liberal. In theory you are not allowed to smoke in public but I can't see anybody bothering you about that. Just find a friendly person (lots of them around) at the bar or hotel or taxi driver etc. and they will help fix you up.

Bombay, thanks for chiming in. I don't think I could ask someone I don't know.

Call it a market in shades of grey. They are going to put a tax to a vote of the people one of these days. Right now the proposed tax is 25%. It is 15% excise tax plus 10% sales tax. My thinking is that is too high and leaves room for the cartels and others. For a while they were talking about not haveing recreational weed if the voters didn't approve the tax. Sounds like blackmail to me. That one got beat down. The latest is no recreational sales until 2014 and then sales by dispensaries for the 1st nine months. That seems strange. Smoke it if you have it, but you can't get it (legally). Right now if a non-resident is 21 or over they can be gifted 1/4 oz. by a resident 21 or over. Residents get an oz..

Store fronts at the forefront of the debate here, why can't we all just grow it for free and give it away? It seems yall are ALLOWED to do that now....!!?? Duh, overgrow that shit!
