Whats up guys and gals? Been a while since I posted, but I just got my ducks in a row and made some bho today....I know, I know, the HYPE. Anyways, got me a 30 gram glass tube this time and purged a bit longer than past experiences. SO question is, how do you all deal with the consistency of the final product? I, previously, had a hard time with the stickyness of it, so it detered me from making more..I used wax paper this time and seems to be ok.
I was reading in the releaf, and insert on medical marijuana in the independent, that there are other ways to purge the butane off, wondering about peoples experiences and such? I am most curious about the alcohol extraction process? I am about to scour the site for a bit and see what I can find, but i figured I would tap into the main vein first.

Get parchment paper next time and use Everclear 190 which is bought at most stores in CO. Let the bho sit in the freezer for 48 hours and filter through a coffee filter, thin film purge or vacuum purge if you can. Short answer here.

After initial blast dissolve your bho in 25 ml/g 190 ever clear, then freeze 48 hrs, and strain in the freezer through coffee filters. I don't have vac pump yet but I let it sit in the Pyrex on a heating pad for 6 hrs or so. I shoot for 125°f for thin film purge. Scrape it while its still warm. Then I put it all on a silicone mat and back on the heating pad to warm back up, and fold it to me desired shape.

Here's 8 g bho in ever clear after 24 hrs in the freezer, you can see the plant waxes and junk falling out.

And a couple shots of the 6.5 g chunk of AA.
Taste and smokes much smoother!
This was made with mediocre trim, but I've read some will but the alcohol/bho in the sun to bleach out the chlorophyll, after it was strained, then purge.
Best of luck.

Search this site. It's there.
Stickyness has been two factors IME, moisture in the trim or B left in your BHO.
Get that double boiler going if you don't have vac for the purge.

Most important thing is use the best butane you can afford. Triple refined minimum. Don't ever use Clipper, Ronson, ect (shit sold at supermarket). Contains bad shit.

Another week means Day 49 shots from The Summer Home:

First GDP.

Then Blue Dream.

We also have some pre-harvest pictures from The Studio, but only one of them will fit in this post due to the limit of 5:

This is a shot of a nice Dynamite cola 2 days before harvest, closeup shot and other strains in next post.

Here's the closeup of the Dynamite:

Followed by shots of my personal favorite, Smurphberry Jam:

Then last but certainly not least, White Berry:

These shots are all day 63 of flower, 2 days before harvest.

Folks, I know we all would rather ignore this, and I more than anyone. Colorado is such a peaceful paradise, and I love the sanctuary of this state, but I feel that it is my duty to warn the community of the impending danger that is very evident. I refer you to my thread and I will copy the final post, made a few minutes ago, here:

Hello everyone:

Im very apologetic, and I am appalled that I have to say this, but I am seriously questioning the safety of continuing this thread and this grow, and all growing period.

Last night I went into my greenhouse with the intent of slaughtering all six of my plants, which are legal under my state's laws. I could not bring myself to do it, because in my mind it is a form of murder. They are so beautiful, majestic, and calming. For me, sitting under the four large plants, listening to the trickling water, and playing calming music is such a sweet, wonderful way to spend the evening hours.

The situation seems to be coming to a boiling point, and Im not sure if any of you have read or heard anything that would lead you to the same conclusion, but I suggest that you begin to get more educated in terms of the activities of the Federal Government. Start on popular video sharing websites and with non-affiliate press, and you will not be able to stop. It is absolutely abhorrent what you will find, particularly the ways in which the patriot act is being used against our population.

Not that posting on a site like this was ever 'safe' in the strictest terms, but it seems to be becoming more and more unsafe as our civil liberties evaporate more quickly than the fine mist I like to spray on my plants at midday. It seems that the Obama regime, which I was conned into voting for twice, is making no bones about the fact that they will not yield to anyone for anything, on any issue, but very poignantly on the issue of Cannabis legality in the US. Once you strip away his charismatic rhetoric and really read or listen to what he is saying, he is claiming that he and his administration have the right to indefinitely detain and even kill US citizens on US soil. He is inventing the threat of domestic terrorism and going after anyone who will be a potential threat to his unchecked power, like veterans returning from overseas conflicts. We saw a preview of a full military lockdown, known as martial law, in a major US city not three weeks ago.

The DHS seems to be militarizing police forces across the nation and buying up huge stockpiles of weaponry. There are leaked documents, and videos of authorities confirming their validity, detailing what are called I/R Camps (Internment and Resettlement). There is no sign that this is going to stop, it seems that we have already passed the point at which we would be able to apprehend this catastrophe.

Whether you agree with the evidence or use the term 'conspiracy theorists' malignantly, I personally no longer feel safe discussing these issues, and that alone is cause for alarm.

It is with my most sincere regrets that I must inform the community that I am terminating this grow and will no longer be continuing this thread. I wish you all the best of luck. Prepare for war.

This after the Obama administration has openly and publicly drawn parallels between 'separatism' and 'terrorism'. I am sorry to say this, but I feel obligated to call for Colorado's peaceful secession from the federal government, which has proven time and time again that it is willing to kill, lie, steal, cheat, and do nearly everything else that defines criminality, and do almost nothing else. We as the cannabis community know this almost better than anyone in the country. Again, the best of luck to you all. -Bear

if they are making any lists then i am already on several of them

they can piss me off, but they are not going to make me stop growing because they are huffing and puffing and threatening to blow my house down

killing your girls because of the fucktards in washington is a silly form of protest IMHO

think of all the poor bastards in florida or texas or oklahoma who can only dream of having the rights that we have in colorado and are STILL trying to overgrow the opposition

I agree with what you said. This is not a form of protest, it is a survival strategy. If you read my post you will see references to things like massive ammunition purchases by the DOD and DHS and the creation of internment camps. Im not worried about a 90 day jail sentence or even a 5 to 10 year sentence, Im worried about being dragged out behind my greenhouse and shot in the back of the head.

There is absolutely NOTHING holding up the value of the dollar besides the fact that it is the world reserve currency, but now Russia and China have stopped purchasing oil in dollars. The last time somebody did that it was Gaddafi, before that it was Saddam Hussein, and we cant exactly go to war with Russia and China.

All im saying is that the Federal Government is corrupt to the core and that we as Colorado citizens should be aware that we are NOT.

Regardless of how passionate you are on this subject, this is not the thread for this discussion.

This is the Colorado Growers thread. If you're not going to continue growing, you're not a colorado grower. Definition stands.

Stay Safe! :blowbubbles:

i'm pretty sure yogurt cups will fit through the wire .......... but we can't let Bear bring clones

What do you mean by that? I hope you mean my plants would grow so large and healthy that they would be very hard to not notice.

As far as this not being the thread for this discussion, I have to disagree, because as Colorado growers, we all have a very large and tangible stake in these issues.

EDIT: Though I do agree that it may not be the thread in which to call for secession.
