Help! Some of my plants keep showing similar symptoms between them, from a few different strains. The huge plants had it happen to them first, then the clones of the large plants started to show signs as well.

The symptoms are: :watchplant:
leaves seem to have lost color and vigour, leaf blades almost seem to be 'perforated' and slightly gray-ish in color. I don't know what's wrong. If anyone can help me greatly appreciated. I looked through the sick guide and compared pics, and the only thing I can conclude is that it might be a pH problem (doubt that since I use distilled water), might be an insect problem (I don't have magnifying lenses), or heat stress, but that's when I thought the leaves taco... :wallbash: :1help:

yeah a closer look is in order...a 40X or 60X is ok if you can't get a higher magnification....if they are there you will see em....by the look of the plants....there are probably 100's of em maybe more...one mite can reproduce a million little ones in a month...good luck..dj

I can't see any evidence of mite damage from the pics (OK, maybe with a magnifier it will be a different story)
From what I see, I'd say over-fed and over-heated. What's your ventilation like?

Thanks man, I appreciate it. What can I use to combat these broad mites? I can't find any Avid miticide in my local stores, is there anything I can do in the meantime? I've read that I can immediately start using Bayer Aspirin 325mg per gallon.

yep the aspirin fights the effects of their toxin. but doesn't kill them. u can get avid on ebay for 25 dollars or so.

is that one of those off gasing tents? i would let your plants dry out and switch to plain water. for it to be across strains and plants big and small it's prolly to do with something you started feeding recently like hammer suggested. whats' the pH? i get mutated plants like that sometimes with really high pH if it's not genetic.

first make sure whether you do in fact have any tiny mites on your plants then you should use an insecticide, if you don't find anything then check your soil run off pH..

Broad mites. Get a 100 X scope(Cheap one's for $10 @ Radio Shack or Amazon), and check under leaves for eggs. Eggs are easier to see than mites. Once confirmed, begin treatment with either chems, heat, or predators. See the broad mite thread for details.

Thanks man, I couldn't find anywhere that had those lil scopes. I ordered the avid just in case. I will also check out the pH runoff as well. :tiphat:

I pH my water between 6.3-7.0, but I try to lean to 6.5 - 6.8. I'm trying guys, I really appreciate this forum's help. You guys are lifesavers :woohoo:

Cheers, and I will post pics in a week or so of the progress.

also, with the avid miticide I was thinking of getting a couple gallons ready, gloves mask etc, then sponging/washing all the plants down and then spray them all down to get destroy the lil bastids. What's the most effective way to treat the plants?

verify there mites first bro. I use avid at 1 ml per gallon of h20. I also use 5 ml per gallon of a spreader/wetting agent in the mix. where a pesticide respirator and gloves, change your clothes when your done spraying. spray plants from bottom to top trying to under leaves. canister sprayers work great.retreat in 5-7 days. then every few weeks. tons of good info in broadmite thread as retro stated. good luck bro!
