The first 3 plants of Respect that I pulled looked great but the last 8 all had PM... FUCK! I probably should have listened to UP and Yes4prop about tossing the clones when I first saw it. Oh well I will blast the buds and filter through a .2 micron syringe to clean it up.

Of the bud that was good we got 75.3 grams off 3 plants. The other 8 are untrimmed except cutting out all the visible PM and it came out to 251.7 grams.

Totaled out to 327 grams from that tray.

Add that to the 134 grams of AB blue and 61 grams of trim and I got 522 grams of usable material.

It is difficult to say what my GPW was because I didn't trim most of the respect but if we figure that 30% of what was weighed is trim then I got about .34 gpw... definitely room for improvement.

Thought I would let you guys see how much of a jungle it is in the Purple Elephant and Headband tent.

The original plan was to let them get a little too big then defoliate hard after 2 or 3 weeks of flower then again hard about a week before harvest. After picking the brains of a few people here at IC I decided to just go with a slow defoliation over time. Every other day I am jumping in there and cutting 4-6 fan leaves from each plant.

First up is the Headband

picture.php

This strain is not ideal for the way I did things in here. She really likes to spread out her fans and doesn't play well with close neighbors. If I decide to run her again I will do either less plants or no veg. She stretches like crazy I am weaving the shit out of that screen. Definitely did not need 10 plants in there to fill out the area. But the smell coming from them is STRONG, I can't place my finger on exactly what the smell is but even with my face full in the Purple Elephant canopy I can only smell Headband!

Now the Elephant!

picture.php

I LOVE this plant! She pretty much only grows budsites and doesn't waste energy on fans and her structure reminds me a lot of how the Respect looked, so I am treating her like I should have the respect and trimming up her bottoms to let her focus on those tops. It is a good thing I vegged for so long because the stretch on these girls is non existent, the second we flipped she started making flowers.

As long as I can stay on top of the headband defoliating and keep good airflow in the tent I think I can hit my 2 p's per light final goal. I realize that is a tough one and can be very strain dependent but there is nothing wrong with being hopeful!

Haha yes it did turn out to be a pretty large greenhouse. I initially only wanted to use half of the deck but while we were building it the cost do cover it all was only a tiny bit more than to do half so we figured what the hell might as well. I got the walls up but I need to borrow some tools to put in the "windows", which will be some screen fencing with some screen door attached to it. Then the lights I ordered should get here in a few days and she will be up and running!

It has been a while since I showed you guys into the Purple Elephant and Headband tent and I couldn't be happier with how things are turning out!

First up by request the Purple Elephant!

Day 21

picture.php

Buds are looking better and bigger everyday I think she is going to yield HUGE.

picture.php

Even with her minimal stretch she still is going to fill a lot of the screen. The bud site to leaf ratio is excellent, I didn't have to trim any fan from the top of the screen... yet.

picture.php

Trimmed a lot of the bottom to let her focus where it counts, I think this was one of my biggest mistakes with my last round.

Now we have the crazy stretchy headband. the screen is pretty much full now and I think she is starting to put some effort into the flowers. They are miniscule in comparison to the P.E.

Headband day 21

picture.php

picture.php

These pistils just started showing up a few days ago, she was dead set on overgrowing her space before now. Had to scissor slap that bitch, let her know her role!

picture.php

The screen is about as full as I can see it getting except for one slacker in the back right corner.

picture.php

Depending on how tall they go above the screen I will probably have to do some more trimming down below over the next week.

I really do love me some headband and am pretty dead set on trying to find a way to run her in my system. I think if the bud is good then I will take clones from the "mother" I saved and run her with no veg SCROG style.

Now for the Extrema x heribei and the Aflav.

This group is vegging great, the aflav is blowing up and I think the extrema is doing the same but as much as its genetics will allow.

picture.php

As you can see the Aflav is towering so I need to figure out a way to even up this canopy height.

picture.php

If it were a full tent of these I would probably be flipping in 3-4 days these girls have great vigor in veg. I just hope they don't stretch too much so I can give the extrema time to develop.

picture.php

picture.php

The extrema x heribei really is a beautiful plant but it looks like it wants to be short and squat which isn't what I want it to be lol. I have one that will go outside and I think that is where this plant will thrive. Hopefully she stretches like mad compared to the aflav or starts blowing up soon.

Last update before I am off to the festivities...

Greenhouse walled and you can see where the window will go in.

Bagseed Bertha was not to happy about the switch to outside. She is starting to purp up because the cold nights and she is making flowers very slowly now.

She started getting Fox Farm big bloom and cal mag about a week ago because we noticed some discoloration on the leaves and figured the soil was all used up.

picture.php

If she recovers from the shock I think she should finish up pretty soon. Hopefully 2 more weeks tops.

Smell is amazing but she isn't stacking up like I hoped so she might not be a keeper

Things were getting a little too crowded in the veg area so I had to rush getting those lights up in the greenhouse.

picture.php

Lights are coming on at 3 AM then off at 7 to keep them vegging.

They were getting hardened off for 1-3 hours a day for the last 3 days then yesterday was there first full day outside.

picture.php

So the lineup is as follows :
3 Headband in 5 gal buckets
1 purple Elephant in 5 gal
2 Bagseed clones in 2 gal
2 WiFi in 2 gal
2 Romulan in 2 gal
1 Jack Herer in 2 gal
1 Extrema x Heribei in 2 gal

Just got back from Vegas, best time of the year to go for sure the weather there is perfect right now! On a side note it looks like Cali's fucked up prices have finally started to effect the market in Vegas. My in-laws were telling me qp's used to be 1000 now fire bud is everywhere for 650-700...

Now for the real update

First off I really wasn't happy how the Aflav and Extrema tent was growing so unevenly and I noticed the extrema I put outside was just loving life so I moved the other 9 into 2 gal pots and threw them outside.

picture.php

That is them in the front row 4 days after transplant and they are growing much faster than in the hydro. I think these girls just needed the sun, either that or they just like soil better.

Now the Aflav is free to take over the whole tent. I built a new screen that is much lower so I can just weave the shit out of it.

picture.php

picture.php

Hopefully they keep blowing up and I am not stuck vegging until June.

The Bagseed was doing good right before I left and when I came back I found nanners on her... wtf? Luckily they weren't open so I just clipped them off, hopefully my bagseed doesn't make more bagseed. Other than that she is still looking super frosty and her smell is insane. Not really spicy anymore but now it is a purple grape-y smell. Almost reminds me of the purple princess I used to get back in highschool actually.

Now for the Purple Elephant and Headband... damn photo limit

This tent is at day 29 of flower

picture.php

picture.php

Headband is looking good, starting to get frosty and she is definitely focusing on flowers now. It looks like 2 plants are a little ahead of schedule, I wonder why that always happens.

picture.php

Purple Elephant is just on beast mode, I am super glad I saved a cut of her. Now hopefully she can get me high! Sorry for no bud shots of her, they all came out super blurry.

Yah if I can get enough clones of her I would love to do a full screen of her proper now that I know her growth pattern a little bit. I think I could get really good results with that.

Question time, feel free to speak your mind whatever it may be I am looking for any advice or criticism of my techniques. Don't be shy!

So like I have said I am doing a lot of defoliating in the PE & HB tent. I think I am getting to a point where I should be just about finished. Let me know what you think.

First up we have the Headband, these girls got the worst and most everything under the screen was larf. I actually noticed almost a whole plant was covered by a more dominant one on the screen and had to cut out a few holes for them to get some light. It is tough to see in the picture but it is towards the front.

picture.php

The underside was getting done on a slow and low pace but I think it might have been too slow or those 4 days in vegas because some of the fans decided they wanted out. While I was trimming some just needed a slight tap to make them drop... not good. So today and yesterday I went more aggressive.

Last pic shows light penetration from underneath the canopy

The PE didn't need near as much but she did need some.

picture.php

Since the headband has been the main focus of defoliating we havn't done too much on these girls. After looking closer I think we should have done a little at a slow pace. So we started that but a little more aggressive at first to make up for lost time.

Let me know what you think, is this proper and on schedule. Did I fuck it up and do too much? Should I have gone even more? All thoughts are welcome!

Never underestimate the power of boredom. I have been sitting over here wondering how I can stay busy for 10 hours a day and the only answer I can think of is LIGHT DEPO!:dance013:

picture.php

picture.php

Windows down!

picture.php

picture.php

The tarp is on the way hopefully be here within the week, but I am thinking the difference from 18 hours to 14 or whatever it is now might start them flowering. If not oh well they can veg a few more days until the tarp comes.

The lovely ladies. We have 3 headband a purple elephant and the yet unnamed bagseed. Soon to be joined by 2 more bagseed clones.

HEAT is going to be an issue in here. If anyone has ideas on cooling the hoop house and the greenhouse I would love to hear them.

I think because heat is going to be an issue I will have to split the light depo and tarp it for a little bit in the morning and a little bit at night. It will be more work for me but I think heat won't be as big of an issue at those times. I still don't really have it all figured out so we will see what happens.
