Don't have time for a soil brew

I have seedlings now so I can't wait to let a good soil mix brew up for a month or two. So I have to make the best of the situation.

So I picked up

pro mix organic
EWC
shrimp compost
Gaia Power Bloom 2-8-4 http://www.gaiagreen.com/powerbloom.html
perlite

Also grabbed some neptunes harvest 0-0-1 and the 2-4-1 that I will add with EWC for teas.

Just trying to figure out how I should mix this up, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

The recipe for the Gaia Power Bloom is about 2 cups per Cubic Foot and that sounds perfect but because you're going to use it right away I would go to 1.5 cups per cubic foot maybe even 1 and then top dress later before flower.

How much pro mix and EWC do you have?

Shrimp compost and EWC at 30-35%. If you have a lot of compost and not a lot of EWC you can just mix the compost and then top dress as much as you can equally on each pot after transplant.

Pro Mix Organic at 50-60% ( I think you have the bag of compost sphagnum premier pro mix stuff and not the big compressed bale right?)

Perlite at 10%-20%

Thanks for the help!

I have 40lbs of EWC, and 40lbs of shrimp compost and I did get the big bale of pro mix mp (mycorrhizae organik) so I have lots of everything.

i prefer 25-30% perlite and 20-25% compost (whether EWC or whatever) and the rest peat.

i never get problems from not cooking my mix, it should be ok as long as you dont have things like bloodmeal etc in there and as long as its not too rich/hot

That pro mix already has perlite in it, so I was just thinking enough to cut the Compost.

Verdant, that gives me an idea, I have soil that I just whipped up, I'm going to go plant something in it and see how it does. I don't think it's too hot but I'm worried about the Neem Cake in my mix.

ah right, im showing my ignorance of USA bagged soil - i thought it was just peat. :)

i would have thought neem cake would be OK - its unlikely to burn your plants but i guess it may take a while to become available to them.
