Thanks for posting those bud pics Mr. Herbsman. Looks like herb from back in the day proof that bag appeal is overrated.

In the meanwhile here's an update on the seedlings almost 12 weeks old. I have two that have been cloned and put into a flowering room while still in their 5" pots to reduce stretch and stimulate flowering. One of the two is showing female pre-flowers and one is showing male pre-flowers.
Here's the female, sorry for the yellow light but can't move em much.

I hope they stay male and female, you know how that can go. jeje
No stem smell besides a slightly herby green smell.
I put the third one into flower tonight also showing maleness but still small, so not totally sure.

Thanks for the well wishes spiritual uk and 420 Empire
they are growing indoors at 10 3/4 -13 1/4 and taking them down 15 minutes at a time when I feel like it. May take them down to 10/14 by finish.
They have been in flower almost two weeks and still no major changes. Clones look to be rooted already, so hardy plants for sure.

Hi everyone and Randy, thanks a google for inviting me over.

I'd been lurking since the start of the thread anyway, in utter amazement. I'm rooting for you, all the best with the rest of the grow. I'm sending good vibes.

Honestly, I aspire to tackle a "legendary" project like this one day, Shokdee.

Thanks Shokdee, you are set up to help a lot of others from where you live and grow. I always like to see tropical land race sativas grown in a place like where you are.

Well we just passed the 4 week mark for the first female I put into flower.
picture.php

So far no trichomes or smell, but lots of fresh pistils.
The count so far from the five seedlings that sprouted is 2 females, 2 males and 1 hermi.
I am putting together a flowering closet to let the clones mingle till they make seeds.

So far I have not seen anything that would make these plants legendary. Although they are graceful beauties they are not giving any clues to their being special. I'm hoping time and patience will change that.

Well thanks for the good thoughts 420 but this is not working out according to the legend from what I am seeing here.
So far the two females in flower, one for 8 weeks the other for 4 weeks both do not have one trichome anywhere on the plant. I don't ever remember seeing a female so fully into flower and not have any resin. All the plants around them are covered in varying amounts of resin.
It's just weird, but it is what it is.

I'm not totally giving up on them, but I'm seriously doubting the hype on them.
I will post as soon as I see something happen.

Wow that's weird... are all the females like that? I remember some very late flowering plants I had that only started to show trichomes at the very end and only the calyxes were coated with some tiny resin glands. Maybe they will be even later maturing as expected, 8 weeks in a 24 weeker isn't that much actually!

Let's hope for the best as I'm looking forward to see how they finish but as someone said once: if only the quality of this renowned strains was just half as good as the great stories behind them! :)

Vibes bro.

Hi Randy, do the buds smell of anything worth mentioning?

You sound disappointed and you shouldn't be. I think it's just a case of leaning how to dial into the strain to fully unlock the potential. For one thing, it sounds like this strain needs a very long vegetation phase. Under different conditions, I'm sure a fabulous plant can emerge. Thanks for your hard work it has been very helpful. :tiphat:

Thanks guys, for the encouragement.
I am not at all giving up on them. I will let them finish up and smoke test them.
Musta, Both females are like that so far but one has only been in flo for 4 weeks. And yes, I think they have more to go before they finish.
Shokdee There is a faint wintergreen smell, it's very nice but would have to become more pronounced to amount to something worthy of crowing about. I'm hopeing it does, because it is different.
I would love for these plants to live up to all of the expectations labeled on them But we have to remember it is a grow of only 5 plants and I am calling it as I see it not as I want it to be.
The two females are very healthy beautifully flowering plants, but with no resin which I think is unusual as all the other varieties I have going resin up real early.
I have been growing a long(long, long) time and I don't remember any varieties I've grown that at eight weeks had no resin but were fully in flower.
I'm just keepin it real.

Well Randy, just wait and see. I had some Ethopian Higland, and they didn´t seems to have any visble trics until the ending, but man! I am sorry I didn´t kept the males and carried the Holy genetic further, only have it in the Bubblegum Sativa X Ethopian Highland form, and these smell of sour jellybear! . SO keep growing and maybe you will get some nice headstash, but you are more experienced grower than I am i guess :) .
