With the legalzation and looming in flux of State grown and controled MJ for standard pricing and sales to the masses @ 12 per gram...
{ the unofficial ESTIMATE } on pot and its production and sales cost for the state.....

where as the average Joe street guy has Bud for 10 per gram...

And I'm already seeing the avg. cost in the Medical dispensaries going down....

GDP ~ 150 oz
cherry pie ~ 200 oz
all kind of nice Sour this & Kush that ~ 175 oz

So pardon my ignorance and all....
BUT how the phuck is the state going to sell me a oz for 300
NO~THANKS...

guess then legalization has it's holes ...and
@ this point is only geared to the general public

and still haven't heard if the sales is only for WA residents or open to the tourist...
which is another basket of loopholes and worms...

all this while the state is concerned about OVER production and excessive amount of WA grown pot flowing over the boundaries into ...Idaho,Oregon and beyond....

so just where will the prices fall/climb and sit and stay stable???
under who's control?

:ying:

Washington State wants full regulatory control

Ever been to Seattle and seen the few State liquor stores

The WSLCB has selected the BOTEC Analysis Corp as their mmj consultant for I-502

I have thought about going to Wenachee or Yakima and finding an orchard to buy and converting to cannabis. Do you know how much of the 12$ a gram will go to the grower? Also I wonder if the grower will have to trim the weed? I guess if they use cheap immigrant labor it would make sense to trim it right there and dry it then ship it.

Anyway it will be almost impossible to compete with 20 acre outdoor farms (sun) verses indoor grow lights. A friend of mine was talking about trying for a license to grow recreational cannabis and have 18 lights. I was telling him that a 20 acres farm would be equivalent to thousands of grow lights. Figure a 1,000 watt light from the sun every 3 foot X 3 foot (square meter) area, or 9 square feet.

1 acre = 43 560 square foot
divide by 9 = 4,800 lights per acre

I go to the Cannabis Market in White Center. Grams of frosty stoney well trimmed buds for $6-$8 per gram. An eighth is like $20, and it is more than an Eighth.

GSC Cookies there are always people at that table and the price is a firm $15 per gram, $45 per eighth.

Most of your top shelf strains are $10.

Dispensaries are a little tougher in price. Grams look small and prices are fixed.

The farmers markets are the place to go as a consumer.

I got some Trainwreck x Blueberry. I don't think it was real trainwreck or real blueberry. Looked nice and frosty, but an obvious fraud.

I am in a non med state, and around here prices $225 an ounce, or 3600 a lb......I think the GROWERS should set the prices. If all growers could get together and set prices, we would be good. We need to be like Jay Z, Beyoncé, and Justin Timberlake...they set the prices for their concert tix between $200-$600, and they are selling out!!!! I don't understand why we growers, cannot do the same thing, with our products. Soon, hand trimmed, beautifully cured, frosty, sticky indoors will be a thing of the past, as outdoors is easier to produce. Nobody wants to take the time to hand trim, for 225 an ounce. It is unfortunate, but as more and more weed saturates the market, buyers will sacrifice quality for quantity. Then when they go tell someone that they got a great price, even if the weed wasn't great, they then start a domino effect of everybody wanting that great price. If you are a consumer, and not a grower, you can never understand the risk a grower deals with, or the cost of growing quality medicinal cannabis. growing weed is easy, growing medicinal quality cannabis is a whole different ballgame!!!!

i have the feeling that either; legalized weed will not happen in WA or; when it does; it wont be long before the cascade effect makes it legally available in those states as well ~minimizing those particular concerns

a lot hinges on the fed:

if the fed does not come around and legalization proceeds in WA; a grower can expect to pay 25% to the state and 50% to the fed ~IOW; the state will make the same money as the grower and the fed will make 2x as much!

not much incentive for an illicit grower to move to the licit market {although they havent decided to allow people w/ grow convictions to qualify for the process} esp. considering the spectre of a federal raid will continue to loom over the "licit" grower's head

Have you tried the GSC? We have a farmers market by me too called MMJ Universe. It's only open on Saturday but the dispensary inside is open the rest of the week, the market is outside in a greenhouse.

The growers or venders are there all day, I just wouldn't have the time or the patience for that. I've been there a few times checkin it out...
