Me and a friend will be running a half greenhouse, half outdoor run.

Greenhouse will have..
Mr. Nice - Master Kush x skunk
c-ray - Cheemo (Cheemo x Guerilla Gold#5)
THC123 - Manitoba Madness F2 [(Freezeland x Guerilla Gold#3) x Guerilla Gold#3]

Outdoor will have..
G-Warp (C-warp x Guerilla Gold#5) C-warp is is Texada Timewarp hybrid but in clone form
Cowichan Gold (Nepwarpx Guerilla Gold#5) Nepwarp is a Nepalese x Texada Timewarp hybrid.

Thought we would try some stuff that isn't floating around so much in the UK. BC seems to have similar weather to us so we'll see how it turns out.

Not sure on numbers yet but looks to be an interesting summer..

Good luck to all..

A few yr back i was wondering about ISS IslandSweetSkunk as that was developed in Canada but only ever had it in a x with a Thai & that never came anywhere near finishing .

Hey all

Buddy - I was on OG all those years back, I think there is another sirstonealot on boards I don't use. Accept no imitations though!

It gave me a massive grin to see you all kitted out, you wan't to be careful or you might wake up in a zoo one day:laughing:

SmokeyMC - Sorry if I was quite short in my pm but I have very limited internet access at the moment, the auto ak I got are ak49 from vision seeds although I'm not sure forum rules permit me to name the company I got them from?

Stupidly I bought a packet of fem seeds for a seedrun so I will be getting a pack of regular auto ak from another breeder asap.

Badger - Thanks mate you are a absolute star :woohoo:

So far I have 12 assorted outdoor bagseed germed and coming along nicely (indoor), I put 20 FON F9 in 24h ago 3 sprouts so far.

I should have asked about the FON before germing, in the past I have found that AF seeds have very thick husks and benefit from scarification / soaking pre germination. Is this the case with the FON?

Regarding germination, over the years I have used many techniques and ultimately settled on the tissue paper method.

In recent years I substituted toilet / kitchen roll with capillary matting (available at most garden centers), Try it out it's gotta be the best thing since sliced bread when it comes to germination.

It allows for higher moisture levels without denying the roots oxygen as well as being reusable, stronger than tissue and the seeds have less of a tendency to stick to it as you lift the top layer.

Occasionally when I deem it necessary to pre soak I mix a tiny bit of hydrogen peroxide and superthrive into the water.

Will get some pictures up as soon as things get exiting :smoker:

EDIT I forgot to say I have large amount of outdoor welsh seed mix, you know what to do ;)

Peace

When i`ve done FON it`s just a soak in some water in the propogator & when those shells split & the tail shows pot them . Never found scarification neccassary . Tried the kitchen towel method but lost quite a few seeds one year coz the shoots were too long & a few bust .
A lot of growers don`t know that it`s better to pot straight into 10lt at least , quite a few of us have found that if you try & pot them up from small to bigger pots you can end up with runts .

Badger - The shells on the FON seeds seem normal thickness, the original masterlow & auto AK had very thick shells and I found scarification / pre soaking helped with germination.

In any case 17/20 FON popped so far and transferred to 1" rockwool cubes :D

I was thinking about weather it would be better to put them straight into big pots last night, do you think it would be ok to put them into smaller pots then cut the bottoms off the pots and place them on top of my beds allowing the roots to continue growing into the beds?

Buddy - I meant to ask where do you get that plastic mesh and what is it called?

Next up the big germ!

I have been using those exact same tree-protectors since the OG days mate, they have seen some plants in their time, they are commercial tree-guards,the brand name is Tubex Netguard you can get them from the tree-shop but I got a vanload free gratis from a mate :ying:

You crack me up bro :p

Yep when it comes to germing seeds its way easier to soak until cracked and then pot up straight into soil.

If growing autos then pot into the pots you want to finish in. I would use 10l at least and plant 2 seeds per pot. Then you can cull whichever is male or runt. O found the FON a real mixed bag and not very reliable. Hopefully SS you'll have more luck.

Just like old time in here, very sweet :dance013:

Peace and love

I would`nt as myself along with a few others noticed bad growth rates with some autos placed into smaller pots then potted-up . I reckon if you used a smaller pot then cut the bottom off the roots may have already suffered some shock due to the restriction . It`s easy i know when using something like a 10lr coz all you need to do is place a plastic bottle over seed/seedling for a little while but with a bed it makes it a bit more difficult , remember a bed of soil will not be as warm for quite a while yet .
Forecast for near next weekend is possible frost S & SE so we ain`t out of the woods yet & i know your further N .

found the FON a real mixed bag and not very reliable

How long ago ? They have been pretty consistent the last few times i have grown them , average round 2 1/2 to 3ft in 10lt with most all plants being the same .

Now you mention it badger its been several years since I grew the FON. My seeds came from zed and im not sure but i tgink i had one decent plant out of 15 or so. Like i say its been years so I'm not sure.

I personally prefer a raised bed over pots with autos. With pots its alright if you can get them under cover when very young so the soil doesnt get water logged. With my raised bed i have excellent drainage so its never a problem. I plant directly into the soil sometime in may and have usually harvested in august.

I have just recently got some seeds from my good friend esben. I have quite a few so if anyone is in real need then hit me up with a PM. I will be doing autos in my garden for seed stock but a friend has a nice sized Polly tunnel and will be growing a few for me. Hopefully ill get some pics!

Take care all :)

Hey all

I would really like to share some of the welsh outdoor seed mix with other uk growers, it's against forum rules to give seed away here but they can't dictate what people do outside the forum though!

Edit all but one FON have popped :D

I threw in another 3 when I had 17/20 and they all germed so now I have 22 fons going, the big germ is set for tomorrow night!

Peace
