Calling all DTW coco drippers!

Afternoon everyone,

Been reading up on DTW using drippers in coco and im interested in giving it a whirl my next run. Im currently running 2 gal coco hempys with H&G full coco line, which ive been rather pleased with.

I was curious how all your DTW coco drippers have yours setup...more importantly what drippers you are using! I have been lookin at halos due to complete coverage for saturation. my hydro store just got these in, but i havent read anything on them.

http://www.blackholeshydro.com

I will only be flowering 2 plants at a time in 2 or 3 gal smartpots using a 6gal res for nutes so its not going to need anything too burley! Feel free to post photos of your drip setups, as im a better visual learner

thanks in advance

Blumats. I can't imagine ever needing anything else since it provides me with all the options I need to make adjustments. Distributors, individual levels of wetness, no waste. I find that the head formula is suited best in this situation. It is the most tuned in ratio for coco and it is meant for a constant feed. Combining the blumats and head formula is what coco is all about imo...pushing the plant to its limits without stressing it.

Check the blumat thread in the main growers forum. People love them and some grow stores are now selling the parts individually. Waytogrow does if you're in CO.

i just use a peice of hydro farm tube capped at one end pump on the other. go get a tool to punch holes in the rubber at home depot,u can just buy ur tube and im preety sure drippers and stakes there too,if not i saw someone mention harbor freight. just punch the holes pop in ur drippers and set up the stakes. really lo-tech and cheap, eventhough those pvc manifolds are preety cool.

I was using 2 stakes for a 3gal of coco but i feel that 3 would have been more adequite. but btw i wouldint use a 6 gal for 2 plants. i was using a 20gal for 6plants in coco 3gals and by the hieght of feeding i was a mixing a new one every 3-4 days. if u go to ace of homedepot u can get a 10 or 20 gal tub for cheap kus i feel like u want to fill a rez every 6-7 days to coincide with H&G nute schedule(i use aqua flakes ).
also i see alota of people saying halos are that effiecient because of salt buildup? and im sure u can get 3 drippers for the price of one halo. lastly IMO i feel if u get a really small(yet capable) pump to slow down ur flow which will help saturate more evenly and not create pockets IMO .Im always in the room when my pump would run doing other things so i didnt mind waiting for runoff.and also save u some dough on the 1000gph pump lol..

my setup consisted of a 3x3 or 4x4 tray sitting on18inch saw horses with the pump end propped up a couple inches to make em drain. the sawhorses sat east/west with a 20gal cooler for (insulated) rez sitting in between the sawhorses. pump led to tube w/drip line across tray that drained to bucket. my aisle way ran north/south so if u can imagine i basically would have had 4 trays in a 10x10 room with an aisle way to mix/fill or move rezs from under trays and do garden maintenance. sorry for double post hope this helps :tiphat:

If i run drip clean at 1ml per gallon im guessing i dont have to worry about drippers clogging up? Mind you this is a very very simple design only involving 2 plants and 2 halos.

What size pump would you recommend? i was looking at a 145gph on ebay...would that be enough to run 2 halos?

thanks for the heads up! i actually just got done putting everything together to try and get the feed times dialed before my next run begins.

Ended up with a 185gph pump for $14, 20 feet of 1/4in ID line for $3, 1/4 in T $.50, and my blackholeshydro drip squares were $4 a piece! Not to shabby and the things appear to work very well!

I run the hydro halos and the full h&g line but I run my drip clean at 1 ml per gal and I add sm-90 at 5ml per gal.I had problem's with dripper's clogging when I ran the recommended amount's.The sm-90 will help big time with the fungus gnat's at that doseage, good luck.
