Best Strains for Chronic Pain?

definitely stop taking that crap given out by medical doctors and stick to cannabis. Indica strain is the best for all types of chronic pains and most diesel weeds will help you with your troubles. I personally recommend sour diesel because it's the strongest diesel strain and will give you an unreal numbing sensation. there's ton of info out there on diesel weeds. here it's a couple of links:

More back problems here - my spine looks like a train wreck on MRI's!

I've been using the sativa Cinderella99 for years for daytime pain relief, works well with not much drowsiness. Pain relief and excellent anti-depressant, anti-anxiety. Very "happy" feeling with diminished pain. Also seems to work really well with opiates, boosting the pain relief.

At night time I've used heavy indicas Northern Lights and Sensi Star, they work great to knock me out enough to get good sleep at night, and give some pain relief that lasts into the next day.

Just this year I've tried Cannatonic for the first time - outstanding! I suspect there is CBD in there that is working as an anti-inflammatory. Definitely gives me pain relief with a very clear head. Sativa high but less racy/heart-pounding than C99. Cannatonic is my new primary daytime medicine, along with C99. (non-medical friends seem to like the Cannatonic as well!)

Unfortunately Cannatonic does not appear to be available, unless Resin does another run. My c99 and NL lines are actually from Brother Grimm F1's I purchased back in the day. Not sure who has the best Northern Lights now. I believe GN is still selling C99 F2's. Can't go wrong with Sensi Star, great medical effects, less yield than NL though. I hope to combine the two.

I'd like to try TGA seeds, supposedly their Vortex is very similar to C99. TGA has been focusing on medical seeds for years now, would love to try some of his genetics.

I deal in rare items and most of the people I communicate with are smarter then me so I have to be careful I'm not taken to the cleaners. Therefore I try to use cannabis that's within the 18-22% thc or so range during the day.

Then around 9pm when for sure I'm not going to be ambushed, out comes the 26-29% and that's what helps put me to sleep as by then the affects of the pain pill has pretty much disappeaed for the most part and what I have then is cannabis or the type of pain that could stress my bad heart. Either way it's trouble but the cannabis helps me to live. The pain pills feel like death. Cannabis is Life.

For me anyway :artist:

those are nice nugs! I know TGA was big admirer of Bros. Grimm and follows their preference for high potency and high calyx-to-leaf ratio. The Apollo and Cindy descendents are awesome.

I have some 10+ year old seeds of my favorite f1 C99 female with the old BC strain called Romberry, I believe they're almost identical to the "Space Queen" referenced by TGA, I really need to grow some out and re-breed the seeds.

I could never negotiate while taking cannabis! Would be difficult in the extreme. I'd definitely have to avoid the sativas during that time. Definitely check out Cannatonic and/or other CBD strains, I think the CBD tones down the tripping-out feeling you get from these high THC strains.

Interesting, Parvati is one of those highland Himalayan sativas. The only sativa I have ever tried which kills pain is Nepelese Jam which is 75% highland Himalayan, the same group of land race strains that parvati comes from. There is something special about the plants that come from that region. I highly recommend highland Himalayan sativas to anyone who has pain but doesn't tolerate indicas well.

I find cannabis is not a very potent pain killer, but it does definitely augment the effects of opioids so you can get by with less which is always a good thing. Opiates will really do a number on you if you take them in high doses for a long period of time.

I agree Himalayan strains are special, since they are open pollinated in large ranges, the CBD phenotypes survive, so a good number of the plants will be high CBD sativa's. :)

Tom Petty, hello, and I am very sorry to hear about your suffering. I hope you find what you are looking for. I have RSD(REFLEX SYMPATHETIC DYSTROPHY), I have had it for 20 yrs. It affects my sympathetic nerves, and they control pain, mine are hypersensitive, and always firing, thus causing brutal unending pain. They call RSD the "SUICIDE DISEASE", because the only cure, is death. I have had over 30 surgeries, open arthrotomies, retro peritoneal sympathectomy, spinal cord stimulator w/morhine pump, lumbar sympathetic blocks, walking epidurals, phenol blocks, etc. I have been on 18 different prescriptions at one time. I have been on MS Contin, MS IR, Oxycontin, oxycodone, valium, tegretol, amatrytaline, nortrytaline, quinine sulfate, phenobarbital, valium, dantrium, etc. I was treated at The Massachusetts General Hospital Pain Treatment Center. I would tell the Dr's my pain was not being managed, and they would up my dose. I would get HIGH for a few weeks, but then my body would get used to the dosages, and the pain broke through the HIGH. MY PAIN NEVER WENT AWAY, I WAS JUST TOO MEDICATED AND FOGGY TO FEEL ANYTHING. I decided to take myself off the pain meds, and all the other meds as well. I went through 6 weeks of WITHDRAWHELL, and had dreams of filling my prescriptions, only to wake up and cry, when I realized I didn't have any pills. I had muscle spasms, involuntary leg movements, puking, diarrhea, profuse stinky sweats, inability to sleep, nightmares, irritability...and pain, always pain. But, the pain was no worse, it stayed the same as always...I was just cognizant now. I began to clearly see what had happened. I had become a medically supervised junkie, and a CASH COW!!!! I would have been on their meds the rest of my life, and at the time I stopped taking THEIR drugs, I was only 31. I finally had the insight and clarity to realize the Dr's didn't really care, they just wanted to insure that I was a customer for life, in the legal drug business.....PHARMACEUTICALS. I have been growing for over 13 yrs now, and also been on a quest to find the cannabis that works for my pain. I get relief when I smoke, and I like BHO and Bubble hash, but they can be harsh for me, to smoke. I am experimenting with making glycerine, because I have heard that sublingual medication can be very fast and effective. I find edibles to be the best way for me to manage my pain. I have become a very good cook. As for strains, I am currently working with something I think is very special. I popped some seeds, of unknown lineage, and kept the best pheno. When I say best, I mean that when I smoked her, I had actual numbing happen in my leg. I have never had that happen with any cannabis ever. As soon as I exhaled this, there was a softening opiate like effect...then I could actually feel my leg nerves firing OFF...numb. Never ever has happened. I am very excited about this strain, especially for people with nerve pain. I am now my own guinea pig, and I think I have stumbled onto something. I am also quite fond of blueberry, chem d, and ecsd. Please pm, I would really like you to try some edibles. Best of luck, in your quest, and GOD bless this plant, and all the brave growers that cultivate her!!!!!

There really is nothing worse then having to rely on drugs to stop pain I personally hate this but if cannabis is to work really well on your pain imvho you need to eat it more then smoke it. Smoking only gets you so high and in my case I need much more then only smoking can bring. headband 707

What is DL-Phenylalanine?

DL-Phenylalanine (DLPA) is a mixture of the naturally occurring amino acid L-Phenylalanine and its isomer D-Phenylalanine. In addition to supporting the production of the excitory neurotransmitters epinephrine and norepinephrine, DLPA has been used as a mood elevator/depression, appetite suppression and chronic pain. DLPA also helps relieve discomfort by prolonging the activity of enkephalins, the body’s own pain-blocking neuropeptides. DLPA has been used successfully for the management of chronic pain and may be effective in a number of endorphin deficiency states such as depression and arthritis.

What are the benefits of D-Phenylalanine?

• Elevating endorphin levels associated with pain endurance
• Providing relief from arthritis, and other back and joint pains
• Helps feelings of stress and frustration
• Control the cravings for addictive substances

CAUTION: This product NOT intended for use by people with PKU(Phenylketonuria), or pregnant or lactating women. If you have high blood pressure or pre-existing pigmented malignant melanoma, use only under the guidance of a physician. Do NOT take with MAO inhibitor antidepressant drugs.

Yeah bought it at the healthstore, it was DLPA+Curcuma longa extract.

Most cannabis strains offer pain relief. Indica leaning or higher CBD offer reduction of inflammation (pain source). Personally, I do best with poly hybrid with both sativa and indica. (with ruderalis), growing primarily autoflower strains.

As you already know, pain can be exhausting....having a little "UP" from sativa gets me moving, the indica helps with pain/inflammation.

Supplements help as well. Turmeric and Fish Oil (EPA 800mg DHA 650 mg), I can say pain/inflammation has been reduced.

No ONE thing does all approach. Find out what best works for you.

I like tinctures/edibles as they are longer lasting. Don't do it all the time, but a few times a week. Smoking has faster relief, but doesn't last as long.
