Sounds like your starting ppms are high. You using tap water? Are your plants telling you its to much? As long as their happy I dont see a problem.. good luck

I forgot to mention my tap water; it's around 20ppm... so nothing, essentially. And the ph is around ...6.6-7.1 (just to give flexibility).
I also find the ph not very "stable". It swings up.

Now, the girls looks GREAT since I posted my worry over 800ppm, except very slight curl down on the bigger fan leaves tips. They look a beautiful green now though, maybe a tiny bit too much - so I think it could be a little too much nitrogen.

Edit:
Maybe there should be a hydro section for kiss, although this thread is so long I'm sure it's in here somewhere. I can't find s**t with the search :/

I've been using MaxiBloom for about 5 weeks now with good results. This is my first time with a hydro medium (coco) so this is all new to me. I noticed my reservoir was getting contaminated with something (smelled nasty, cloudy/brown) so I started adding some 3% hydrogen peroxide to the tank... Now it smells great but it went from pink to clear. ph stayed at 5.8 and about 1150 ppm with my hard water. Should I be worried or did the pink dyes just get bleached by the H2O2?

Try putting an air stone in the res it will help with the algae and keep things well mixed. You shouldnt be worried, probably just bleached it out. Hell I with they would loose the dye I hate the pink ring aroind the res and also turned the hoses pink.

I do have an airstone (with the funky perma-pink air line) and it does help. Still after about 4-5 days it just smells like a locker room or pee. Maybe it doesn't even matter to the plants, still makes me nervous though.

Is that h202 stuff reccomended? I'm doing dwc/aero and coco hempys. How much do you use? I ask bc with it getting warmer outside our rooms are heating up and rez getting nasty /stinky. Pink ass roots though!

Just finished reading the entire thread lol..Took me 2 weeks off and on, but worth it! Thanks to Ioni, Maj Cottonmouth, and countless others for taking the time to answer peoples' questions...

I'm still using soil, FFOF, mixed with sunshine, and add a little lime, I found that usually I don't even need to feed in Veg, as they are running under a 400w in 2-3 gallon pots..My question centers around feeding during flowering on a typical 8 week strain...I couldn't find a definitive feeding schedule for soil using Maxi-Bloom..I'm erring on the side of caution so far and doing a water, water, feed. My tap ph is 7.0-7.2, with around 67 ppm...I figure it lets the soil get back to almost neutral...When I mix with maxi-bloom, after silica and between 5-7 grams of Maxi, ph going in is around 6.7 or so...I seem to have to use darn near 3 tsps of Protekt to bring ph up to that point..Is that a high number to bring water up? Are there any soil guys that are feeding every watering? And if so, what is the maxi-bloom grams being used? Thanks!

Try using a large search engine to search just this site.

Google uses this terminology to do this... "Site:icmag.com <your search terms>"
No "'s or <>'s in your query though. :)

Stay Safe! :blowbubbles:

Amazing, I will try that out for sure. Thanks!

it will definitely help with the warmer weather, alot of ppl recommended it. The ratio of the h202 depends on the strength of the product. usually ranges from 2ml-5ml/gal. Search around abit and you will find out alot of info on using h202. especially in dwc.

I use the 30% h2o2. And I use it at 1ml/litre, and that's about the max I've used. I've used, for example, 30ml in a 25gal res though, to "correct" something.
Careful, the stuff burns and bleaches material.

Any body used the pool shock method. I think it's the cheapest and ppl say ut works better than h2o2 but from what I've read chlorine(clorox bleach) works best at like 1ml/10 gallon. We don't have any huge reservoirs so using this little amount of clorox would be hard for us. I'm willing to try everything I've just seen from peoples opinions across the the web that the pool shock or chlorine is much more efficient than the h2o2. Anyone have any experience with this?

ive heard of people using bleach. I don't know much about it except I would never feed plants bleach.
h2o2 is dirt cheap.

So im just making sure by h2o2 you mean hydrogen peroxide in the brown bottle right? I thought h2o2 was another over priced bottle from The grow store. So 3% looks cheaper and less likely to burn anything. 30%seems a bit hot and is much more expensive .

35% is what I use and it is good grade. If you understand anything at all of how h2o2 works, you wouldn't be saying " it's a bit hot". H2o2 is nothing more than a water molecule with an extra oxygen atom. When you put hydrogen peroxide (h2o2) into your res, the Ezra oxygen molecule breks ayaw and attaches itself to anything it can. Once attached it oxidizes itself and kills off whatever it attached to. Free roamin oxygen molecules are a wonderful thing for roots that require o then as well. As long as it is used appropriately, h2o2 can do wonderful things for your plants.

Thank you for that lesson on h2o2

Even after seeing the results some hate to admit it. I was told they felt like they got robbed with out a gun by a 10 year old boy

Precisely how I feel after finding this thread! I've spent countless hours on forums and just dropped over a hundred bucks on A.N. products for my first grow in coco. Old hippies still learn something new every day!
Thanks and Peace...bongwater :dunno:

and your telling me thats nothing but maxibloom the entire grow with every feeding at 1 tsp per gallon?

thats just fucking incredible....i cant wait to finish up all these bullshit nutes i have. i just cant bring myself to buy anything else for a seriously long time lol.

What he said!!! peace...bongwater :thank you:

The higher grade/percentage h2o2 is not more expensive, it's 10 times more concentrated than the "brown bottle" at the drug store. You don't need a lot per application.

Doomsday summed it up very well.
