I also see these little white things bouncing around in the run off from the flush. Never seen this before. What are these little bastards?

White fly larvae? Fungus gnat larvae? Do you any adult critters flying around?root aphids I'm just naming the usual suspects. Damn look at all those little bastards...you got bigger issues Damn...I've never experienced anything like that..good thing u decided to flush them out I wonder how many r left in the pots still?
Clean house big time after this harvest.

That's larvae bro, probably fungas gnat larvae. I have random leaf issues and spotting similar to yours, the more ive thought about it the more i tend to think its root damage from feeding pests in your soil rather than PH or cal/mag problems.

Im lurking in this thread waiting to hear some more thoughts, sorry i cannot be of more help but good luck Brother Bear :)

those are not larva

they are spingtails and they thrive on organic matter, scary to find but they have no real payload to their presence

lime is not fast acting (fast acting enough) which is why i suggest foliar applications of cal mag

good luck :)

for future reference I do not flush if my plants are reacting to a deficiency only. I come in on the underfeed purposely so I don't normally worry about burn.

however if you are unsure if your over fed or have ph lockout it is safer to flush than to let roots burn and roots in distress wont cycle a containers water/nutrients as quickly anyway and this can further impact problems (stagnancy)

fresh water has fresh oxygen and while I grow organically and seek to preserve the microbiology, I can just as easily give the plant a EWC ACT to invigorate the root zone after and bring back life quickly.

I would measure the PH of the runoff either way but springtails and other microbiology seem to thrive in balanced conditions (healty ph range soil not too hot lots of microbes humic stores) so they are almost a canary in the coal mine in regards to your soil health. Top dressing lime will offer benefits after it becomes available but I suggest you investigate food grade diatomaceous earth

it is organic has calcium magnesium silicon among other trace minerals and it also decimates most soft bodied insects and can be top dressed or mixed as a amendment

Hey Weird i use DE as both a top dresser and mixed as an amendment in my soil mix too. Just wondering how much DE per gallon or litre do you premix into your soil? Ive only just started premixing it so it was a bit of a guessing game for me and i erred on the side of using very little.

Sorry to hijack your thread Brother Bear!

But he is using soilless pro mix .not living soil if this makes a diff Idk. I have never heard of a springtail but they have to consume something to survive ,roots or nutes I have to read up on these buggers.I just cant see them bieng of no consequence is all I'm saying.

I mix 1/4 of my own composted potting soil into the promix.

Ok, so after some time. I tried something else. This only happens in my 250 hps tent. I had plants in the 150hps room and they were all growing fine. I moved three plants to the 250 and a week after these same signs are starting to show up on the leaves...while the plants in the 150 room still look great. Could there be something wrong with the bulb? The lights are the same distance away from the plants.

I bet its enviromental reasons behind, check ya humidity !

Also take a peak at the humidity at lights off and feel the leaves do they feel moist ?

Are the pots unsual wet for a long periode ?
