Can i duct two rooms to one filter?

If i were to duct two rooms into a y joiner, duct from y joiner through ceiling to a fan pushing through a carbon filter, would it be at all efficient? Would be approx 1 meter of duct from each room to the y, then another foot perhaps from y to carbon filter..

This way i could use a single fan and single filter for two rooms, and only have to cut one hole in the ceiling

The only problem i can see with this is the y joiner could compromise the performance of said fan. But since the fan is sucking through it maybe not?

Fan is a 300cfm centrifugal. Would there be much flow loss with that amount of ducting and a y joiner?

Where would most of the noise be coming from? Would silencers/mufflers help with this sort of set up? Or would it be at the fan/filter end up in the ceiling?

Attached is a terrible picture in case anyone doesn't know what i mean..

would need to know the measurements of the rooms to give you an accurate answer. most my noise was coming from my 400cfm fan / scrubber combo. insulated with regular insulation inside a foam box, strapped to the side of the room. really helped reduce the noise, now just have to quiet up this ac unit.

Rooms are 4x4x2. Well one is, one not built yet

Currently have a fan rated around 100cfm maybe less, axial type fan (terrible i know), hooked up to a carbon filter in my 4x4 room which keeps temps acceptable and negative pressure. So not too worried the fan isn't up to it, more that the ducting etc will cut out a fair few of those cfm's. Plus i pull through filter currently and would be pushing through with proposed setup, if that makes any difference..

I think if you are pulling air through the ducting, as long as both rooms are the same size with the same amount of intake into both and the ducting to the Y is the same length, you should be able to pull the same amount of air from both rooms. And I've always been told that it's better to pull through a filter rather than push, but I don't think it makes much of a difference. As far as noise is concerned, I built a box around my centrifugal fan and stuffed it with insulation, which killed most of the noise, and I plan on making a muffler out of PVC pipe wrapped in insulation for the rest of the noise. And don't forget to seal all joints in the ductwork. :)

I exhaust 3 rooms (1 veg, 2 flower) with 1 12" vortex.

What i did was built a box around a 12x39 phresh filter, making damn sure it was SEALED TIGHT. The box acts as a plenum (sp?) just like a regular (homes) HVAC system. Ran hard duct from each room to the filter box.

Fan is mated to the filter and discharges into the cold air return of my HVAC system. Performs well and is very quiet, all things concidered.
