Maybe they need better stealth?

or, maybe the Fed is targeting Spain for closer inspection due to it's burgeoning Cannabis culture?

Ordering from the UK is safest. Spain and the Netherlands are the last places I would order from. Had a seed pkg intercepted by customs about 6 years ago. They sent it to addressee with seed removed and a completed form. Never heard any thing more. It was sent from Holland. UK is high volume, and seeds being legal there, the UK isn't going to participate in any of the DEA crap, and won't be pressured to do so. Good luck. -granger

Ive used a few overseas seed co's including the Bay within the last 2-3mo....my mail does go thru the Chi-town hub and were not stopped...a couple were tshirt stealth and others were not but all made it..Ive had plenty stopped back in the day tho and it did seem rather random and was always during slow season mail times..
Worst times to send are around July 4th and 9/11....otherwise try to order around high volume times like Valentines day and Xmass season...gl

Customs isn't great at catching every package that goes through, especially if it's a stealth shipment. However, when they do find something that is possibly contraband they remove it and send the rest of the package along with one of those forms. This is done because, well, it's expensive to make a big deal out of every red flag they get. Although the seeds look like marijuana seeds, do they really want to pay to have them tested and then consult with your local law enforcement? No...they want to give you a letter that lets you know you can appeal if you want but it will go before a mini-court type hearing. They do make mistakes occasionally, and people have went through the appeals process successfully. But on average, they're correct that it's contraband and the letter is enough to scare you off.

Now, please don't think that the letter is the only thing that will ever come of it. There is a centralized database and if you keep throwing up red flags for the same thing at the same address, bet there will be some sort of follow up. Best thing to do if you get a letter is consider that address done for at least a few years. Hopefully you weren't getting shipments straight to the grow location anyway. So next time you order, pick a different address to have it mailed to. Not a huge deal, but don't just completely blow it off.

'Stealth' shipping is a ripoff and purely a profit maker for the vendors. That package is going to make it 'stealth' or not.. if it's gonna get snapped, it's purely a matter of chance.. they open random packages to check the contents for contraband substances.. easy as that.. save your 30 or 40 buks extra that they charge and have ur stuff sent..

'stealth' = 'delivery insurance'

It's a rip-off in the same manner as any other insurance product. :biggrin:

But, if you are the guy whose package gets intercepted, that extra few dollars saves big $.

Never had a package not make it, but i ALWAYS time orders around "busy mail times", Christmas and Mothers Day being the best.

It's just a numbers game.

I dont know if this has been clarified. Customs is not doing these latest rounds of seizures. AT least on other seedbanks sites there info is not customs that doing this..Its being done by the Agricultural dept in Spain. All orders from other seed banks have stopped sending them from Spain. They are now sending out from the UK..

#1 - discussing shipping methods is not encouraged here... that's why they are stealthy LOL! If everyone knows what to look for even the LEO's will know also... doh!

#3 - What was it they used to say, 'loose lips sink ships' ? There's a good reason for keeping some things quiet...
