Jim Ortegas Road Kill Skunk!!!!

I

anyone else running THE PURE.. the TFD . ? i got a pheno that smells nothing like skunks haha.. i dont like it .. at all im getting rid of the clones as well.. i want the real DEAL .. hopefully someone has luck with seeds .. so i can get a hold of some roadkill

I did the pure a few years ago, right around the time Sensi took over. Nothing but long flowering sativa crap. No skunk to be found.

I might pop a few seeds I have left at some point to see what else is in there. But as far as it is known the classic roadkill skunk no longer exists, in a pure form at least.

I've ran a shit load of strains over the last few years and have never had anything that smelled like a dead skunk. Lots of stinky ass strains, but no skunk.

The only time I've ever had weed that smelled like a skunk is back before I grew and would buy mexi mids from time to time, but for all I know they were spraying the buds with artificial skunk smell.

Did a mass cloning and after 2 weeks still no signs of roots. Tops of clones are starting to ball up a bit so I might try a different approach. Still dont want to flower them out until I have backed each plant up. I did do some defoilage to get some light in the secondary growth which worked real well. These are just a bitch to clone. Also cloned at the same time some F13's, Zamdelica's and some Jack herer and they all had roots after 7 days except for the RKS. But I was warned that these plants didnt clone well, guess the guy was right.

It would have been only a few weeks into the seedling stage and you would have noticed the intense skunk aroma. Sorry from my experience, I don't believe you have RKS.

Sounds like real deal skunk then; don't forget the original skunk was 70% sativa.

Everybody wants a true RKS.

A real deal RKS in seed form would be a million dollar baby.

Until you all came to the realization that: that particular terpenoid profile may have been unintentionally bred out for damn good reason due to it being a pesky cannabinoid antagonist, regardless of your memories, haha. :D

Care to explain that further? Are you saying that terpenoid profile can't be good cannabis?:tiphat:

Im familiar with the old stories.

At this point I don't even care if it hails from an actual skunk lineage, I just want something that smells like a dead skunk.
I am a flavor and smell junky and this is one on my list.

I think at the point we are at today with carbon filtration and so many states being medical we could handle a dead skunk profile.

It can't be any worse then Sour Diesel. :dunno:

Third Coast yeah okay. What I am saying is that I was there, not only was the Skunk terpene profile everywhere from the mid 70's to mid 80's and further, but it also bred true. Now it may have been recessive in many cases, but it damn sure bred true and therefore it was not too hard to have kept that trait,,, uh, but it's pretty rare today. The only way I can with reason come to an explanation, is with the above h hypothesis re the profile itself being an antagonist. I am not saying that some skunky lines today (the chems et al are rich in these terpenes surely) are not potent, they are, but they have other more complex terpenoid profiles than roadkill too, and that's what saves them imo.
At any rate, there must surely be some correlation between that terninoid profile and some other undesirable, is my guess.

I've found it to be just as potent as fruity strains, if not more...
but smells and tastes horrible and is quite a security risk...

i think it was really people preferring sweeter varieties and growers trying to avoid jail time in the days of CAMP.

there could be something to your theory tom, kind of like mangos and β-myrcene, but i dont think its an antagonist. my nightmare of a cannabis future is standardized GMO corporate weed with trademarked names, and terpenes blended and added to create prerolled cigarettes of OG, haze, train wreck, gsc... etc....

I won't go Dutch (you're buying ;) ) and so can't compare it with fruit (but yeah urkle sucks), but name your reference in something we can sample, or bend to the idea of the possibility that our memory may be failing.
