Holy shit that is a long list.

What is with "legitimate" hydro businesses have illegitimate business practices

I bet you the more commercial Oregon growers that rely on grow stores are shitting a brick!

Whatever will they do?

thanks for the post!

EDIT: take advanced nutrients for example... are they required to register every product they make with every state and the feds?

are the companies not registering products or is the registration process ludicrous?

without some explanation as to why these products can't be sold, it seems a little farcical.

when you regulate too hard, the fact that something was regulated against really stops having any worthwhile meaning and starts seeming a wee bit arbitrary.

either that, or maybe all those products really are evil for some unknown reason. if i had to guess, it's probably labeling complaints.

From what I understand (and I could be wrong), they require all products to have an ingredients list. A lot of these products don't contain ingredient lists, or 'proprietary' lists, and are therefore "not registered" and cannot be sold. Other products have been found to have misleading or false claims. Some products, mainly rooting hormones, contain ingredients that have to registered as 'pesticides'. I'm not an expert on why, and I live 1500+ miles away, but thats the way I understand it. I know people on here have more knowledge than me about the subject. . . . .

Here is a sample letter sent from ODA to AN concerning a product.

I wish Colorado, and the nation, would do something similar. I like to know whats going into/on my medicine/my food/my family/me.

I just wish there was a national organization that cared this much about false claims an mislabeling of nutrients. These big business types can intentionally mislabel or make False claims an ride the lies all the way to the bank until someone says something. Which I don't see happening many places besides oregon. They are ahead of the game in that respect.

Labeling issues on some....even though there is nothing hazardous concerning rock dusts. That list is old. Changes have been made since.

I was just at the grow store and I saw a lot of those nutrients that were on the list......

Me too, but does the grow store warn anyone? Most are only concerned about making money and ignore health or safety concerns because they believe their customers arn't too smart. In my state (MI) they sell products only fit for ornimental plants to medical growers with no explanations or warnings. My state is happy to ignore this as well. Who cares? it's only stupid stoners. Criminal in my book, that along with their disrespect for their customers has been very discouraging and one more reason to do it yourself......scrappy
