HPS/CFL Question

I have a 400 watt hps cool tube. I also have four 55 watt cfls. Do you guys think my tent would benefit by hanging the four 55 watt cfls vertically, or would it just be a waste of energy? I know the cfls don't have the penetrating light but I was thinking it would add two hundred more watts. Anyone?

do it your plants will love it just hang them lower then the 400 get em close to those tops when your budding is in full swing

That is the way I do it. My HPS is usually down a bit below the tops to blast the sides and the cfls keep that top cola nice and fat.
