I still have a huge Jug of Hi-Brix Molasses from Earth Juice.

Is this stuff worse for compost tea than regular molasses?

:dunno:

Anyone using agave nectar? I already have organic blue agave nectar from my adventures in cuisine and I seem to recall it being doted upon by a couple of posters.

I'm confused. Why would you want to make powder out of the real thing? You've already spent the money to get it.

Did I miss something here? I'm looking to save on the cost..... and water weight. ??? :) In a fog, hep me out here.

The powdered molasses is already powdered. A 50lb bag of dry is cheaper than a one gallon bottle of regular molasses

Most dry molasses if I am not mistaken comprises liquid molasses sprayed on some form of grain, then allowed to dry. I think CT Guy knows the answer to this.

Thats the stuff I use, It's the only molasses I can find around my parts.

Last thing I get at the dro store, plus fabric pots.

Works fine for me, very happy with my compost teas.

Careful with dry MO. As MM said, some of it is liq. MO sprayed on a carrier. Some of it is sprayed on shredded corn cobs. I'm leery of using that type because of the anti-fungal properties of corn. I don't see any advantage to using dry MO in teas or nute mixes, and dry adds a layer of guess work. No matter how remote a place you live in, you're bound to have feed stores within range. Easier to use liquid. Good luck. -granger

Was thinking of storage, and weight. Thanks for setting me straight on the downside of the dry stuff.

I'll just use the Black Strap. I'm sure I can find it, since I'm in Denver at the moment.
