Quite a variety in that line, but without a doubt, there are some in there that kick-ass. I have one that flowers really fast and the buds are smallish, but tight. I mention this one because it has a smell that is totally unlike weed...more herbal funkiness, so perhaps this is the "Cat Piss" I have heard people mention.
Bottom line, I think you're going to come up with some really good crosses if your selection process goes well and I wish you the best of luck!
Edit: Just checked your first vid (thanks for that, really nice looking plant) and noticed you're getting some cattails before the majority of the flower have even started to get a significant amount of dead pistils, which is different than my experience. The pheno in that video also more closely resembles a classic Afghan (from what I have seen from old pictures) than any of those I have started. Ya know, the first thing I did when I got my pack last year was make a batch of a few hundred of the WOS AK's w/ one really nice looking bushy male and all; three of the girls I had. My thinking is to keep the original strain protected so I can always go "back to the drawing board" if the couple of crosses I have made end up being weak.
I can tell you that I am really pleased with what I am seeing of the Bhutanese Sativa land race x WOS AK land race. The couple of people I have shared that project with agree the scent is quite good, exotic IMO, the plants are flowering roughly as fast as the Afghans (The Sativa's take FOREVER), so I already got the fast flowering aspect, and as I said, they smell really good, look like they're going to flower densely like the Afghan, and have this hooked branch tip thing going on that makes me think the flowers will look like little pine cones in shape.
I did make one other cross just because I had a good couple of Purple Bud males and I crossed that with two of the Afghan females. This one is going to be a super wildcard I'll bet, but I just have a handful started because I had some seeds that looked like they were bad so I threw them in water and some came up. I may or may not share that project here, but figured I'd mention it.

@BrownThumb - I am selfing this AK and making some fem seeds so I can backcross in the future. I am getting some Dragon seeds on Wed so I will be making a cross of this AK with Russian Dragons. Also getting a G13 x Russian dragon cross that I might play around with.

Moved my setup. Here are some pics. Some are slightly yellow because I left them at my old place for a few days and somehow the light lowered and bleached them. I bought new cords to hold my light and they are at my new place so all should be well now.

Thanks Siomha! I harvested the mother AKS that was under the Blackstar 240uv 10 - 14 days early because I could not move it and had to have it out of the house it was in. Trichs were only about 2% amber and the rest mostly milky.

Looks like you did alright even missing the main puff-up... The high will probably still be good, but the flavor won't be there.

83 grams dry off the blackstar 240uv I switched the clones under the SS to 12/12 two days ago. Let's see what I get now.....

thanks guys! It has had a couple days to sure now so I tried some and it is pretty good.
nice buzz but makes me tired. That's to be expected from a pure indica though. standard afghani flavor but I'm letting it cure for 30 days to give it a more defined taste.
Clones are all doing well and showing preflowers. I will update with pics Thursday

I decided im not getting enough airflow so I made a diy co2 generator. Gonna throw it in the closet tonight when the lights come on.
