I made some BhO then sent it to the lab.......

I posted this over on TC just curious what you guys think too.

I ran 5oz's Death Star trim last week and submitted a sample to cannlabs for testing. I used 4 cans of vector
Hot water and vacuum back and forth for around 4 hours @ 22hg
The oil never reached a temp above 125 *
I used 3x lab nerd medium flow filers on each tube
Return was 19g's
The tube was packed 4x. Each time I packed it up I put the filters on and then put the tube and the can of vector in the freezer for 30mins before running.

Here are the results.

I'm actually dissatisfied with the potency result. I want to hit 80%+ thc

I lack any other data from other samples to compare this to.
For all I know 72% is a good score for a shatter consistency?

thanks for posting your results! do they test for sulfur compounds and mercaptans? they have pretty high standard for a acceptable ppm. A lab I believe herbal synergy has standard for passable residual solvent of 5ppm.

the result of lab scare me , im curios to try some of this staff, one time only i make some bho..ehh ehh not sure if my result are near to this!! the high was impressive but Lol with 80% + thc i need to make my self confy before and after hits ahh ahh

interesting... never seen lab results on bho before... it seems from looking at ur sample that only thc is stripped out by the butane... could that mean that the remanents in the tube would be great for further cbd extraction?
any bho experts way in? or is this deathstar sample just really low in cbd to begin with? or maybe its more volatile and evaporates at low temp more easily than thc?

I was looking at the chart and thought the same thing bro. Where did all the CBD an CBN's go? If they were trapped still, then how could you extract the potent concentrate of CBD's out of the tubes or whatever its trapped in. (Dont know jack about BHO and concentrates) Maybe the way Nate did it on Weed Country?
I do like a strain high in CBD's at night. The best weed I like to smoke at night is brick weed from mexico. Although "Harliquen" has my attention along with BCBD's "The Black". (They are on my wish list to test and try)
Im hoping for a night time sleep aid from the Fuel Im growing at the moment. Diesel#1 aka "Daywrecker" X Chem D bx2. Hopefully this will help get me off the xanax. Hate those evil pills!

Top shelf dank is high in THC and low in CBD/CBN's. This doesnt help me sleep at all.
Brick weed is low in THC and high in CBD/CBN's and makes me really hungry then very tired. Its an extremely dirty high but it doesnt matter when Im sleeping. Gets me more stoned than alot of high THC strains. I just love those CBD/CBN's.

Anyhoo ~ Thanx for posting this FouRtwissle. I read the article about DeathStar and the breeders said its better than Sour Diesel.
Do you think the DeathStar is better than the original SD parent?
So how do you smoke this stuff? In a bowl ontop of weed or in a Vape or something?

On the assay results they show THC-A at 73.20% and THC at 8.66% and then add them to make 72.86% Max THC.

That's a different type of addition than what I'm used to. I get 81.86% when I add them.

Aside from that little puzzler, it's good looking stuff both visually and analytically.

I'm a little confused on the math too. I don't know how they came up with that 72.85% ?

I smoke it on a Titanium nail. I. Heat it with a torch then dab the BHO on the nail.

I really like the Death Star (sensi star x sour D)
Sour D alone makes me paranoid so I enjoy the indica from the sensi star in this cross.
There is also a back cross of this strain called Bio-Diesel where the parent genetics are switched.

As for the lack of CBD & CBN: I did not grow this herb I ran. I have to assume that it was cut down early, before any trichomes turned amber. From my understanding CBN & CBD develop near the end of the plants life.

It seems to me like Most CO growers are happy cutting down before any trichomes turn amber. Perhaps the demand is too high?

I'm guessing that the trim used did not contain much CBN & CBD at all

THC-A gives off CO2 in the process of decarboxylation which causes it to lose wheight. I'd assume the 72.86% figure is already compensated.

I don't think they test for sulfur compounds or mercaptans.
I'm not sure about any standards.
This is the only data I have. I need another test to compare my data.

I'm on a quest to hit 80% and higher!

I'm planning on doing another run on Tuesday and Wednesday. Blackwater OG!

Perhaps have the same sample tested at another lab to compare results, herbal synergy is out of Denver, check em out, I believe they test for mercaptans and sulfur compounds.
