Seed companies stealing pics is nothing new...but the classy ones ask..sol asked to use blubonic pics back in the day..thought that was cool and said of course...but it was his strain..others have yanked my pics or worked a deal w whatever sight they were posted on..fuck it...now clone vendors on cl are doing it? Thats just kinda pussy...they should take thier own pics..ha

Greenhouse may be despised by many, hell I don't care for Arjan very much, but they asked to use my Trainwreck and SLH photos a few years ago. I said sure and in exchange not only did my pics get shown in GHS adverts in dozens of well known weed magazines and books (which I still show off to friends haha) but they sent a bunch of swag and even assured me I'd receive VIP treatment next time I was in the Dam. Despite what myself and others may think of GHS as a whole, I thought that was pretty cool of Franco & Co....

its actually kind of scary, like folks are stalking ICmag growers, stealing their pictures of cuts and ideas to rip unsuspecting folk off.

The truth is, many of us ICmagers are representing ourselves with icons that we stole ourselves. I know Beetlejuice didn't give me permission, I'm pretty sure that neither Sean Penn nor Universal Pictures granted authorization for Trees, and that one Sunset is using is an impossibility since its owned by Crimethinc...could a person even form a licensing agreement with an anarchist organization...?

Interesting thought, but how would you know that the nugs came from that clone? Wouldn't you still ultimately just have to trust the guy? Maybe I just don't know how - Is there a way to check them to be sure they match?

As far as I know, the only way to know its real is to grow it out. Trust me, I've been burned many times. I even got nugs and clones of supposedly the same strain from a top notch local dispensary. The nugs were gold, but the clone yielded total shit. You'll just never know until you see for yourself.

yeah ive thought that out as well,someone can easily buy some GSC nugs and sell the clones pretending the nugs came from it.

i rarely buy clones from random people.

pics that they stole of high quality nugs,saying that its the nugs
they are offering patients,then show up with some mid grade kush,or middle shelf product.

1. without getting into politics or personal information too much here, i'm more than allowed to fly that flag. everyone is, although i don't think most folks would even want to.

2. generally though, the difference between lifting a pop culture image for your avatar and lifting pictures of someone else's grow without their consent is the difference between dressing up as jimi hendrix for halloween and trying to pass bold as love off as your own song. one is implicitly understood to be poetic license, make believe, whatever, while the other one is bold faced plagiarism and disrespect to the owner, used with the express intent to deceive the public. not even in the same area code, imho.

A good rule of thumb is - if ya don't want your pics on the internet, then don't put them on the internet...

I always shake my head when I hear the story about the girl who texts pics of herself to one person, and now she's surprised that everybody's got them. Really? Sympathy isn't my first thought.

I'm thinking that if I were in your shoes, I'd prolly just answer the ad and say Please take my shit down. I bet they would.

I think that's against TOS, but anyone who is selling PO clones as their own and saying they are disease and pest free is either misinformed or is purposely misinforming you. At PO, I am told there is a sign on the door saying something to the effect of "these cuts have PM, deal with it" - but there are other members who will chime in I'm sure.
