Those buds look fantastic! I have my own Huckleberry donated by DP (perhaps he can point out which one in the previous photos) and a Mex Sativa with webbed, non-serrated leaves that I will put some pics of up tomorrow when they're done sleeping

It's so hard to find space me and bulldog have been moving plants back and forth between us quite frequently in the last few weeks depending on circumstances at the time :-S It's becoming a bit farcicle

I'd love to have some smoke reports to compare with It'd give people more too look at. I'm still very much a novice, especiallly on writing grow diaries, made all the more difficult by having lost my camera and having to borrow one whenever I want to post pics :-(

I've had 2 growth form Phenotypes, tall with huge leaves and short with smaller leaves and extremely bushy. Both (especially the later) respond very well to topping.

There's quite a bit of purpling going on in general and both types are showing progressively more cupping (even in some sugar leaves) as flowering progresses.

Also worth noting that compared to my other plants hounds have very dark green leaves, I don't mean flowering colours are showing, the leaves of the plants are darker than I would consider usual for vegging plants.

Additional comments:
This sample was covered in white trichomes that gave it an aura when I took it out of the jar. They were low-laying and covered up vibrant shades of purple and pink in the calyxes. The plant matter itself wasn't very dense and was dry and fluffy when I broke it down, but came together to form a dense bud. The smells coming off of the bud were a mix of floral and hash tones. There was a funky, almost dusty, smell to the bud that gave the aroma a presence in my nose. There was no signs of intersex expression or seeds in the sample.

The taste of this smoke was thick in my mouth. At first I was hit by a combination of hash and acrid flavors, followed by a smooth floral overtone that took over my palate. The expansion of the smoke had me coughing after every hit, but it wasn't harsh. The bowl burned to a clean white ash that was easily sucked through into my bong water.

Final comment:
I began to feel the effects of this strain after my first hit. My body almost instantly had an uplifted feeling. I could feel and see my vision tightening up with every hit. I felt mentally uplifted and in a better mood. At the highs peak I had an inspired feeling to do things I normally wouldn't try. I had a very calm feeling, an almost detached feeling, that made me desensitized to what was happening around me. I felt more internally involved, but I seemed to know what I wanted to do without thinking it. The center of my vision was clear but the sides were hazy and dream like. The high persisted with these qualities for over an hour after its peak. The high declined mentally leaving me feeling physically awkward for another hour afterwards before fading away completely.

I really liked the look of this sample. It had trichomes that were long and opaque white, making it look as though this bud had a layer of actual frost on it. There were many different colors in the sample, many shades of purple and green. When I broke the bud apart trichomes went flying off in all directions.There was a subtle floral smell that was the dominant aroma. It had matching acrid and hashy undertones that gave the smell a twist on classic purple bud. After completing my review I had a small bowl leftover of this sample and decided to load it up, I noticed an almost ripe seed just on the top of my bowl. I didn't notice any intersex expression.

The smoke was surprisingly expansive and on my first hit I ended up not being able to take it, to the point where it made me dry heave. The flavor was more intense than the smell but contained the same components. There was a leading hash flavor that really made the taste savory and mouth watering. As the bowl continued it lost a lot of it's hash flavor and picked up much more of an acrid purple flavor. The ash color of this sample was a light grey but also easily sucked through into my water.

Final comment:
I began to feel the effects of this sample about 5 minutes after beginning to smoke. After my first hit my body quickly acclimated to smoking and I started to feel the effects physically. My eyes felt considerably more heavy and reddened. The sounds around me seemed amplified and I was able to pick out quiet and subtle background details with ease. My mind felt slower and I thought things over a few times before doing or saying anything. I felt like it was harder to understand my thoughts. The high came in waves. At the stones peak there was a feeling of trapped energy inside me, I felt like I could go run a mile.. but this feeling was only contained in my chest and head. My limbs did not want much to do with going anywhere. My reaction time seemed to be slower then normal and all of my movements were slightly delayed. The high declined fairly gradually from it's peak and left me feeling more tired than I was before smoking

Additional comments:
This sample stood out as soon as I took it out of the jar containing it. The buds were full and plump with every color of the rainbow displayed across it. On the inside of the bud the calyxes were a lighter shade of purple than the ones on the outside. There were a few that had hues of pink just visible under the thick layer of long stalked trichomes. The smell of the bud was extremely thick and I could feel it enter my nose on the first whiff. It had even floral and pine tones with acrid hash undertones. The smell was pungent under my nose but lost intensity at a short distance. There were not signs of herms or inter sex expression found throughout the entire sample.

Final comment:
The high of this began to effect me around the five minute mark. It came in suddenly and I was caught off guard, I stopped after my first sentence of notes and faded off into thought. My head felt like it was wrapped up in a warm towel. The high peaked pretty quickly around 10 minutes in. After re-reading this part of my review before posting I noticed I had typed the same words in a row a few times the first couple sentences. My vision was weird and hard to get focused. I felt like I could only see clearly out of one eye at a time, but my eyes didn't feel or look red. There was a warmth in my head like I was standing with my back to the sun. My thoughts weren't coherent and I bounced from subject to subject without a pattern. The stone went by suddenly and I had trouble remembering exactly what I had done for the last two hours

This bud had a fantastic loook to it that made it stand out immediately There were many shade of purple throughout the bud and barely any green at all, only on the left over sugar leaves. The pistils were a burnt orange color that blended in with the darker background of the bud making them hard to see at a distance. The smell coming off the bud was floral and a little chemically funky. There was a light undertone that was acrid and almost bitter that changed the aroma to a more earthy funk at the end of every whiff. I did manage to find several instances of intersex expression on the buds but no sign of seeds throughout the sample.

The smoke on this sample tasted lightly floral with an acrid bite at the end. Both the harshness and smoke expansion were average. The flavor lost most of its floral flavor mid way through and became much more acrid. The bowl was burned down to a clean white ash that was easily sucked through.

Final comment:
Before smoking this I was feeling queasy and uncomfortable. After my second hit I began to feel very relaxed. The tension that had been in my back released and I felt good. I began to feel a light "heat" behind my eyes that reminded me of the feeling my tongue gets when eating mild peppers. It was a refreshing but odd sensation that lasted for the majority of the stone. The queasy feeling in my stomach had changed to a dull pain and then went away completely. At the highs peak my body felt grounded and stable. My mind seemed to be working a little better than it had been. I was able to take mental notes on the things around me that I later didn't forget to write down, however my short term memory while stoned was not quick and it would sometimes take a few seconds to remember things. I noticed that my vision had a static across it that made things around me difficult to see. I had to really strain the muscles in my eyes to get them to focus 100%. The high gradually wore off from it's peak. and lasted roughly 2 hours total. I felt like this stone would be good for use during most any time of the day or night. It didn't leave me feeling too stoned, but enough to where I felt comfortable and relaxed for it's entire duration.

This sample had a very nice look to it that made it stand out in both the light and dark. The bud was plump and riddled with long stalked trichomes that were easily displaced and knocked off of the sample during examination leaving a small pile of kief underneath itself. The colors were mostly dull but accentuated by deep royal purple shades in the calyxes. The smell of the bud had a delightful and light berry overtone that accompanied a floral chemical smell that was pretty sharp. The aroma had hashy and chemical undertones that left a sour feeling in my nose.

Final comment:
I began to feel warmer after a quick coughing session on my second hit. I could feel the blood rushing to the front of my body. My thoughts became more internal and my actions became more deliberate.The high really effected my head, it gave me a clouded or hazy feeling that made me feel lost. I would get distracted by everything. The highs peak hit me suddenly and left me unmotivated to complete anything I would start. I felt like I wasn't going to finish the review in time, but every time I came back to it I had only not been writing for a few minutes at most. If I went too quickly without looking my hands I had trouble hitting the right keys as I typed. Although I was having trouble staying focused I was enjoying the direction my mind was taking me. I felt more imaginative and creative. I felt the need to try to solve puzzles and problems around me. I felt inspired to do things that I haven't wanted to do in a long time, but sometimes I was overwhelmed by this feeling and wanted to do multiple things at once. I believe that at a lower dosage this would be a great smoke for morning, daytime or evening; but at this dosage the high was too much and had little usability.

Bulldog I'm thinking I've got two phenotypes, and we've both got a mixture of smoking gear.

For a fair test we should run each one through:
Pipe, Hotplate Vape, the Swirly glass bong and the volcano+bong combo. It's going to be a real challenge of our commitment to science but I think we have to do it, to truely know the effects we have to put ourselves on the line ;-)

Many of the non freak plants came out very similarly. The odds are good that you will get ones like all of the buds pictured except for darla (the most purple)

They've gotten a lot more purple on them since I was last round! Mine seems to be fairly green all over at this point

I think it's a heterozygous dominant characteristic? if it's that simple anyway ;-)

That one had only just started to purple when I went away, now it is really purple, the other is more slightly-pink/green but it might just be because it started later, I thought there was a good chance it was going to stay green when I left, I'm glad it coloured thanks for looking after them all so well :-D

TGH: Are the Huckleberry Hounds F1 generation? I was under the imression they were.

At least I hope it's dominant because it means there'll be purple in the outcrosses
